The newly formed political party in Lesotho, Revolution for Prosperity, has won the country's elections. The new party has however fallen short of making it beyond the simple majority of 50 plus one. A 21-year-old suspect is expected to make his first court appearance today following the discovery of six bodies at a building in Johannesburg on Sunday. Police were called to the panel beating shop in Village Main following a foul stench emanating from one of the rooms. The six bodies discovered are believed to be that of sex workers. The recent grisly discovery has brought to the fore discussions around the decriminalization of sex work. Former president Jacob Zuma's private prosecution case against News24 journalist Karyn Maughan and state prosecutor, advocate Billy Downer will be heard in the Pietermaritzburg High Court today. Zuma opened a criminal complaint against Downer for allegedly leaking his confidential medical records to Maughan who then published the documents. The NPA declined to prosecute Downer for allegedly leaking the records and instead awarded Zuma a private prosecution certificate. The South African Transport and Allied Workers (SATAWU), is planning to shut down Transnet today. This after the labour court at the weekend dismissed Transnet's application to interdict the wage strike. Satawu says all 21,000 workers at the state-owned entity will down tools this morning. State-owned company Transnet says it is in the process of instituting disciplinary actions against its employees who embarked on an illegal wage strike. Workers affiliated with transport unions Untu and Satawu are demanding a twelve percent wage increase but the employer is offering three percent.
