The South African National Editors' (SANEF) says says it plans to meet with new Police Minister Bheki Cele to discuss the raiding of Investigative journalist and author, Jacques Pauw's home by the hawks. Pauw is the author of the book 'The President's Keepers', a book that uncovered explosive information about ex-President Jacob Zuma and allegation of state capture. The speculation at the moment is that rogue elements in the state security agencies are now fighting back to intimidate and harass journalists to try and close down these kinds of stories. The Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises looking into the mismanagement of state funds in state-owned enterprises says the failure by Former SAA board chair Dudu Myeni to appear before it borders on undermining the process they've undertaken. This morning Myeni sent an sms to the secretary of the committee stating that her lawyer was overseas and she still needs to check the legality of her appearing before the committee....Tsepiso Makwetla spoke to Chairperson of the inquiry for the portfolio committee on public enterprises, Zukiswa Rantho.

Various Civil Rights groups have told the Constitutional Court that prosecutions boss Shaun Abrahams should vacate his current position as National Director of Public Prosecutions because his appointment was unlawful. His predecessor Mxolisi Nxasana's golden handshake is also said to be unlawful because it was not voluntary but ochestrated. Advocate Wim Trengove of Freedom Under Law told the court today that former president Jacob Zuma abused his powers when he got rid of Nxasana and replaced him with his preferred candidate Shaun Abrahams... On our arts and culture slot this week, we're joined by Moferefere Lekorotsoane, an author and poet, whose talents and poetic prowess have drawn the praise of literary greats including the late National Poet Laureate, Keorapetse Kgositsile who penned the introduction to his collection of poetry called Shapes. Lekorotsoane prefaces his book, which has been launched with these words "From the onset, my interest in poetry came from my fascination with how words could express and, at the same time, carry the accumulation of our experiences."
