The ANC says it expects President Jacob Zuma to respond to news of his recall tomorrow. The decision to recall Zuma follows protracted negotiations to convince him to resign. The Department of Justice and Correctional Services has published the regulations of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into allegations of state capture. This comes two weeks after the terms of reference released by the department. The regulations will enable the Chairperson of the commission, Deputy Chief Justice, Raymond Zondo to collect evidence and subpoena witnesses to testify before the Commission, among other things. Tsepiso Makwetla spoke to the Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Advocate Michael Masutha.

ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe says the party cannot confirm any speculation of a meeting between President Zuma and Deputy President Ramaphosa, to discuss President Zuma's voluntary resignations. According to sources close to the officials, Ramaphosa will meet with Zuma at his official residence of Mahlambandlopfu, in Pretoria, to finalise terms of Zuma's exit package. But Pule Mabe refuses to engage in any conjecture around Zuma's future. The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) and the department of Social Development have come under fire for asking the Constitutional Court for a six month extension of its contract with Cash Paymasters Services (CPS). This, after the court ruled in 2014 that the contract Sassa signed with CPS in 2012 was illegal and invalid. COSATU has called on minister Bathabile Dlamini to be released from her responsibilities with immediate effect.The department of Social Development and the agency were given until March 31, 2018 to find a new provider to administer the grants.
