Multichoice says the Africa News Network (ANN7) will be taken off the DStv bouquet when the contract expires in August this year. Multichoice made the announcement at a media briefing in Randburg, Johannesburg. This follows allegations of a corrupt relationship between MultiChoice and the Gupta-linked news channel ANN7. Capitec Bank says it was made aware of the allegations by Viceroy Research Group against the bank. This morning, Viceroy released a report where is stated that Capitec Bank is a loan shark masquerading as a microfinance provider. However, the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) says according to the information available to them Capitec is solvent, well capitalised and has adequate liquidity. The Western Cape High Court has reversed its earlier decision that Parliament not suspend EFF MP's or dock their salaries following their disruption of Parliament during President Jacob Zuma's 2014 State of the Nation address. They were demanding that pay back the money for the upgrade of his Nkandla homestead. In 2014 Judge Dennis Davis granted an interim order, pending the determination of issues relating to fairness and procedures followed in Parliament's decision to suspend them and dock their pay. Parliament asked for a review of the earlier ruling, which has now been granted. EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi says the party will appeal the decision. Disgruntled ANC members are rejecting the Provincial task team which was recently appointed by the national ANC leadership, to oversee the process of electing the new provincial executive committee. Earlier today there were protests outside the party's offices, however, the Kwa Zulu Natal, Provincial task team says the protests are not directed to the interim structure.
