It's OK to be afraid, but we need to lean into that fear, not give into it - myself included.

The importance of setting the right example, in health and fitness and all facets of life, came full circle recently.

Even with the Vicnasium right next door to his room, my son, Zach, rarely showed an interest in taking training seriously - until the night of his 14th birthday earlier this month.

He was watching all this time...and that's finally paying off.

My ongoing recovery from a torn Achilles tendon continues emphasizing the importance of having a positive mindset.

How we choose to look at at a time in our lives determines how we approach it and how successful we are at conquering it...and I have firsthand experience.

It's easy to get out of a daily routine that works for us. And the more time that passes, the harder it is to get back into it.

A lot goes into that routine, but it grows simpler the more we grow accustomed to doing it. So it can seem overwhelming to try to regain our groove in life.

But if we do one thing, whatever that thing is, that's the all-important first step to getting back on our path to success.
