This week's Fitness Reborn podcast guest is Marc Paisant.
Marc is an athlete, father, husband, mental health advocate, and host to his own podcast, Relatively Normal.
In this episode, Marc and I discuss his long struggle with mental health that began during his years as a collegiate athlete, his trials and errors in working with therapists, his family background, how close he once came to committing suicide (literally just minutes away), and how this all led to his eventual mental health advocacy and podcast brand.
Other topics discussed are:
- The relationship between physical health and mental health
- Why self-care is not an act of selfishness
- Societal stigmas of depression and anxiety (particularly among men)
- Mental health in the black community
A great conversation. I hope all of you find it helpful and engaging.
