Same sport different countries - how do things differ?
This episode I talk with Almi Nerurkar, a very talented runner, University of Leeds languages student, and someone who has lived and trained abroad. She shares some of her thoughts and experiences of the running culture in both Ethiopia, and Spain.
She shares her running journey, which includes a dabble in triathlon, and time in Africa, Asia, and Europe. She offers some insight into potential barriers for women in running in different areas of the globe. Definitely a topic which deserves an episode in its own right.
She talks us through how she balanced running and training with taking the opportunities she has had for travel and new experiences. Almi offers her reflections on her running journey so far and what she is looking forward to in the future.

Are you getting the success you want in both academics and sport? Instagram|| @beawood_ || @fitterfasterhappier ||
Success in both academics and running could be deemed the 'Gold Standard' for any student or college athlete. But how do athletes not only achieve, but then maintain this? And does the concept of balance even relate to a fixed idea or practice?
This week I am joined by multiple national title holder, GB runner, and Cambridge University student Bea Wood. She shares her reflections, thoughts, and tips on her running journey as a successful athlete and student.
She walks us through her experience of her first year at uni as a student athlete - including her training routine, things which have surprised her, and her thoughts in general. She also offers some advice to students who are looking to apply to OxBridge.
A definite must listen for any student athletes!

What do you do when life catapults you lemons? Instagram @charlottealexander._ @fitterfasterhappier
Despite doing everything right, sometimes life just sends you up the long bendy road - so how do you deal with this?
Charlotte is a very talented runner who has competed for both Great Britain and England. She has competed in the World and European championships, and received her first England vest before she even started training for running.
Injuries are every runner or athletes nightmare. They stop you doing what you love, and prevent you from succeeding even when you are willing to put in all the work.
Charlotte has been faced with more than her fair share of injuries over the years, including around 6 stress fractures and most recently severe plantar fasciitis - which took her out for the past year.
In particular her huge susceptibility to stress fractures despite not suffering from RED-S or a nutritional deficiency and only running 19 miles a week, left herself and professionals searching for a while before she got answers.
Despite having been through countless cycles of injury, Charlotte is now back and running. Not only is she back, but she is running more than she has ever been able to, and has a very strong mindset.
In this episode Charlotte shares her story, and the tips and knowledge she has gained along the way. She talks about the emotional rollercoaster of being beaten down by injuries, but also the ways in which she got through these times and how the challenges she has overcome have helped to make her the strong athlete she is today.
A great episode for anyone going through a tough time or struggling with challenges outside of their control
