Brett, a mature-age recruit, was picked up by the Fitzroy Football Club as a 26-year-old in the 1987 season. After stints with Essendon Reserves, playing in Tasmania and playing in Western Australia, Brett went on to play 133 games over 7 seasons with the Lions, which featured captaincy responsibilities, State of Origin selection and Australian International rules representation.
In this chat, Brett talks about his long apprenticeship before playing in the major league, playing under David Parkin, his role as a defender and playing on the gun forwards, the tough on field times at Fitzroy and his move onto the professional tennis circuit working with some of the game's greatest names.
A great listen with the eighty-sixth member of 'The 90's Club Footy Podcast'.
