Step 1: Talk About It
Gather as a family and read Philippians 2:4, Luke 6:6-11
Ask:
- What does it mean to look out for one another?
- How did the pharisees look out for themselves
- What did Jesus do that we can do too? Think of some ways you can look out for others.
Step 2: Create a "LIVE IT OUT" Chart
Make a chart with everyone’s names and a space to list acts of kindness.
Let kids decorate it with hearts, crosses, and smiley faces.
Step 3: Brainstorm Acts of Kindness
Together, come up with simple, age-appropriate ways to serve one another. Examples:
- Make someone’s bed
- Draw a picture for a neighbor
- Let a sibling go first
- Help with dishes
- Say something kind
Write or draw them on sticky notes or directly on the chart.
Step 4: Kindness in Action (All Week!)
Challenge each family member to do at least one act of kindness per day during the week. When they do, they can:
- Add a sticker/star next to their name
- Share about it at dinner or bedtime
Step 5: Pray Together
At the end of the week, thank God for helping your family show love and humility. Ask Him to help you keep putting others first, just like Jesus did.
