Flatirons Community Church Podcast

Have you ever wondered what Jesus was up to before we read about Him in Bethlehem? Today Jim uncovers multiple moments when Jesus made appearances in the Old Testament and it's not what you think. Why does this matter to us? Because Jesus is so much bigger than what we've reduced Him down to.

Jim dives into how we should pay attention to spiritual challenges in the world and stay ready for what is ahead. He highlights the need for Christians to address moral issues within society and encourages everyone to take some time for self-reflection. He emphasizes how important it is to follow God's values and take action to tackle these challenges, starting with prayer.

Jim delves into the Bible's complexities, helping us understand both its uplifting and challenging aspects. We'll discover how these insights can guide us on our ongoing spiritual journey, while also considering the relevance of supernatural beings in today's world.

In this impactful message, we explore how and why God does mighty things through broken people. We delve into the courage and flaws of these ancient stories, drawing parallels to our lives in 2023.

Discover how God's strength shines through our weaknesses as we share personal examples of mighty men and women who've impacted our lives.

What do you do when you get the wind knocked out of you? We have the privilege of learning from Dr. Crawford Loritts as he leads us through a great discussion on how to handle and maybe even find joy in seasons of disappointment, discouragement, and depression.

When most people think “spiritual warfare,” they jump to the sexy Hollywood images like Ghost Busters. Normally, we imagine holding up crosses and shouting at demons and exorcisms. While most of us will never be called upon to do that, every one of us has been commanded to enlist in the spiritual warfare of the Great Commission. In today's message, Jim will challenge us to get serious about the fight we're in by taking steps toward evangelism and generosity.

People haven’t been leaving the church because of what Christians believe. They’ve been leaving in droves because of HOW they've been treated. They haven’t seen the fruit of the Spirit in Christians, and so they gave up on Christ. What if our communities knew Flatirons was a beacon of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in a world where people are starving for that kind of fruit?

You have been uniquely equipped to join Jesus in His mission to save the world. The truth is, when the Holy Spirit lives in us, we receive spiritual gifts that allow us to join our Messiah, Jesus, in His mission. We give him our believing loyalty, and He gives us the gifts of His Spirit.
