This is kinda the kick off of the Prehab or Rehab series for the next episodes. Prehab is always better that Rehab so to help stay out of rehab and make the most of your workout time, a plan is important. There is still time to start or be more efficient in the gym to reach your goal and still enjoy summer fun...

With 45 days left until the opening of Elk season, I wanted to throw out a few workout ideas for anyone headed out west but still has not initiated any workouts. The other thing to keep in mind is that these suggestions help mix up your typical workouts even if you are not headed west this fall!

In episode #22 Dr. Luke and I discussed working through back pain. This is part 2, my story of the most recent flare up of my back pain. This was probably the worst in the last 10 yrs. I have been treating with conservative care, but this is due to my other profession as a spine therapist, however I am/was able to consult with other professionals in my clinic should I feel the need to take the next steps.
As with any serious medical symptoms always consult with a physician to ensure proper diagnosis and to establish a POC whatever course that may be.
We all know we need to be hydrated and get sleep, however they are much more important than what communicated or thought off. I wanted to touch on few things to demonstrate the importance of both. Why we need to be consistent with sleep( and getting enough of it) and hydration ( more than water and why).
For those who are interested in getting some good hydration supplements and want to save a little cash here is a link to the MTN Ops site to do just that

In this episode I sit down with Dr. Luke Bruflat who is a Doctor of Chiropractic. Between and myself we have over 35 yrs treating low back pain. We discuss how we treat and more importantly, how to keep you in your workouts to reach your goals. Dr. Luke and I also touch on addressing this pain for those mountain/ western hunters, to keep them in physical shape to take on the rigors of the mountain for the hunt of a lifetime. While we do use western hunters in our scenarios, all this info can be related to daily exercise and function.

We just kept talking so I kept recording. Here is a candid conversation about fitness and more importantly faith. Both are so similar with discipline and community to help with growth! Enjoy!
"New year, new me" Its that time of the year when many people talk about goals or resolutions only to do just that, talk about it. How many times do you end having or are in a conversation where exercise, health or diet comes up? How many times has it come up only to not even attempt trying to change it. We all know that for anything to change we need to do the work. No magic pill or supplement just plain work... no more talking...

Everyone has a mountain to climb both literally and figuratively. I sit down with my friend TJ Shawver and we discuss the challenges that come with staying on the course to reach out fitness and health goals, and how to rebound when we fall off course. TJ and I talk about training for western hunts from his location ( Wyoming) and mine ( Minnesota - the flatland). Definitely some similarities but different approaches to reaching the same goal, being our best for the hunt and or lives.

In this episode I sit down with Nic Edlund. He is a coach that helps high school trap shooter excel, a backcountry hunter and avid participant in cross fit. Above all he is a man of great Faith. We talk about learning the hard way to hunt the mountains. He shares how he started with cross fit and we talk about making the choice to get healthy. This means diet, exercise and rest. Sometimes these are the tough choices but will ultimately be good overall.
