Isaiah 29:15–30:14, Isaiah speaks of the messianic age, an age when the blind will see, the deaf shall hear, and the poor shall exult. Revelation 1:1–20, St. John writes to the holy Christian church about the nature of the end times, and what we can expect. The focus will be on the broader principles of interpretation of this letter.

Isaiah 29:1–14, Isaiah predicts the coming siege of Jerusalem, its miraculous deliverance, and the mystery of why Israel won’t believe the words of the Lord. Jude 1 – 25, contending for the faith once for all delivered to the saints, against the false prophets of the New Testament era.

Isaiah 28:14–29, Isaiah admonishes the scoffers and reassures them that God has a plan, and it’s not their plan 1 John 5:1–21, Jesus came by water and by blood – what? Sins that lead to death and do not need to death – and what we Christian really know.

Isaiah 26:20–27:13, God visits his wrath on all, including his own people, but with us, it is a wholesome discipline, not at all like the condemnation that comes upon the unbelieving world. 1 John 4:1–21, Here we learn, first, not to trust everyone who says they have the spirit of God, but test what they say against what the apostles have already taught. Secondly, we learned what it really means, that “God is love“.

Isaiah 26:1–19, looking forward to the day after all the present distress is over, the people of Israel and Judah will sing like this! 1 John 3:1–24, John celebrates the fact that, though we don’t feel like it, though we don’t look like it, even so, now we are the children of God.

Isaiah 24:14–25:12, God‘s judgments on this land on that land on this nation, on that nation, slowly build into a global even universal judgment in the heavens, and on the earth, and finally conclude not with a terrible judgment, but with a glorious victory, death itself swallowed up! 1 John 2:15–25, John talks about the end times, antichrist, and the ultimate liar: the one who denies the Jesus is the Christ

Isaiah 24:1–13, the desolations that human intransigence and rebellion have brought upon the earth. 1 John 1: 1–2:14, Jesus, true God, and true man. And a little bit on the flow of John’s thought in this letter.

Isaiah 14:1–23, the arch-typical great tyrant, who falls from great Heights down to hell, is something of a picture of Satan, though that’s not really what this passage is talking about. 2 Peter 3:1–18, scoffers, the slowness and mercy of God, And how Paul can sometimes be a little confusing.

Isaiah 11:1–12:6, a shoot, that will come from the stump of Jesse – what does this mean? – And the glorious song of salvation the people will sing on that day! 2 Peter 2: 1 – 22, false prophets are described And their terrible end as well.

Isaiah 10:12–27a, 33–34, when the Lord is done using Assyria to chastise his people, then he’ll deal with them. And as for Israel, “a remnant shall return”. 2 Peter 1:1–21, Having been made alive by the Holy Spirit, Peter urges us to be fruitful, and shows us how. And he turns our attention to the prophetic word, which is more sure, he says, even than a glorious vision of the Lord.
