Folks we hope your August is going well.  As we have already noted, we are taking the month of August off, due to work and a special episode we have coming September 1st (stand by for details to be released next week or so). So this August we will be releasing reruns that our newer listeners have probably missed. Thank you for your prayers and look forward to our September 1st surprise.

Rerun with Nationally-syndicated radio host and author of A Nefarious Plot, Steve Deace, joins us to discuss why a Hillary presidency would increase persecution towards the church, and why a Trump presidency would undermine the integrity of the church. All of this should remind us that our down ballot duties are our primary duties.

Folks we truly thank you for listening, sharing, purchasing our merch, and all your support. Our podcast is less than a year old, and has grown from a measly several hundred downloads per month to about 20,000 downloads per month. We thank God for this, and for the opportunity to be apart of advancing His kingdom through this medium. We are taking the month of August off, due to work and a special episode we have coming September 1st (stand by for details to be released next week or so). So this August we will be releasing reruns that a lot of you have probably missed. Thank you for your prayers and look forward to our September 1st surprise.

For this rerun Shane Windmeyer, Executive Director of Campus Pride, joins CrossPolitic to discuss why Campus Pride publishes a shame list that includes the top 100 universities that are traditional in their values, and are against adopting modern sexual definitions of what is acceptable.  Marcus Pittman, Producer at Apologia Radio, also joins us as a cohost to discuss Wikileaks and why the LGBT movement is better at evangelizing culture than the church.

UPDATE:  The Gray Havens are performing at Wordsmithy and teaching a workshop!

Dr. Michael Brown, author, speaker, and host of the nationally syndicated talk radio show Line of Fire, joins us to discuss how to help Jews find Jesus in the Tora.  We also dive into Dr. Brown’s conversion out of the Jewish tradition and a drug life, and into the Christian Faith.  Dr. Brown wrote a book related to our discussion called The Real Kosher Jesus, which you can pick up here.

In CrossPolitic news we cover the state of Washington’s new law–DUI-E (driving while under the influence of electronics) and why parents started this insanity, Great Britain’s law against commercials depicting women in domestic roles in the house, and Ken Ham’s rainbow.

Trigger Warning:  We discuss Teen Vogue’s article attempting to educate teens on anal sex.  Every topic needs the light of the gospel and at the same time we don’t want to be crass, so hopefully we address this issue with biblical wisdom.  We address this issue in the first segment, so you can fast forward to the second segment where we begin the discussion on Art and Culture, which is well worth it.

Jason Farley, Director of The Oaks Conservatory of the Creative and Performing Arts, Editor of Jovial Press, CrossPolitic contributor, and blogger over at The Westminster Confession of Funk, joins us to discuss why the church needs to recover the arts and what that means to our culture.  There is a lot more going on than we realize, and the arts are more strategic than we think.  The church needs to recover truth in the arts, and recover the use of the arts for rebuilding a Christ-centered culture.

In CrossPolitic news we cover Trump’s take down of CNN, Gorsuch’s first three months on the Supreme Court, Philando Castile and what Biblical justice should look like, and Francis Chan’s talk on the campus of Facebook.
