Happy Monday everyone. Today's weather forecast for the beautiful Florida Keys area. Now you know when the rest of the South is covered up in a Blizzard and snow like conditions, it's only a matter of time before the cold front sets a little further south and can affect us.
And that is the start of where we are today. We've got some morning clouds coming our way. But then a little bit more sun in the afternoon. Our high today is 74 degrees are low overnight will be 60, which the precursor to a little bit of a cold front coming through a 10% Chance of precipitation along with those clouds and a 70% humidity winds will be coming in from the northwest at 13 miles an hour visibility today is 15 miles.
We also have rising atmospheric pressure - it's going from 30.0 to 30.09.
Our UV index today is a four out of 10. So a little bit less because of the cloud cover that we're seeing. But still make sure that you're taking precautions when you're out today. Our air temperature is going to be around 74/75 degrees, and our water temperature is down to 75 degrees. So they're going to be almost identical.
Today you're heading off shore right now you need to be prepared for waves that are reaching about 8.6 feet. So that's off shore. So just be prepared. Just a little rough out there. With the swells and the winds. It's definitely not the best day to get out there on a small boat to go fishing.
Sunrise this morning 7:01am and sunset will be at 5:40pm. Our first low tide is at 5:37am. And the next low tide is at 4:50pm. The first high tide will be at 12:10pm. The next high tide at 11:19pm. All in all we have a total have 10 hours and 39 minutes of sunshine.
Let's talk about some fishing. Our tidal coefficient today is 64. So that is average. If we're looking at our solunar periods to determine our fishing activity, we have two very high periods 3:11pm to 5:11pm. Both of those are three fish activity on the fish scale. And then minor periods are two fish on the fish scale.
Now, one of the other things I wanted to go ahead and remind you as we're coming into the full moon on the 22nd, generally five days before the full moon and five days after the full moon is the best time to be fishing for wahoo! So only a few more days, and we'll be able to start planning for that. So just wanted to put that out there so that you can begin making your plans to get off shore.
And with the Gulf Stream being so close in right now. It's not even like you have to go terribly far off shore in order to see some of these bigger fish. And if you do happen to go off shore today, once you get out into the Gulf Stream, literally you're looking at half foot to one foot waves so it can be rough till you get out there. But again, it's not that far off the reef. It's pretty close in. So might not be a bad way to plan your strategy if you're planning on heading out fishing today.
No matter what though. The rest of the country has woken up to varied weather - from blizzards to pouring rain to a foot of snow in areas that normally don't get that much all winter long.
And you've woken up in the beautiful Florida Keys, the weather's gorgeous. The people are awesome and always all it's the perfect day to have a perfect day.

Good Sunday, fun day. Today is Sunday, December the 9th, 2018 and we've got a beautiful day of weather on tap for us today. Our high is going to be 82 degrees; our low overnight is 70 degrees. We do have a 40% chance of showers. And that's mainly in the afternoon, evening - after dark almost timeframe. We're going to have winds coming from the southwest at 14 miles an hour and our relative humidity is 78%.
If you are spending your Sunday fun day out on the water. Let's talk about what you're in store for. We have falling atmospheric pressure going from 30.06 to 29.97. Our main chance of showers comes after 4pm today. So be aware that that's what you're going to be looking for after sunset and after dark.
The UV index today is a 6 and that's high on the index. And so you do want to make sure that when you're out under the partly cloudy skies, that you are making sure you are protected from those harmful UV rays.
Our water temperature has dropped off another degree it's down to 75. With some of this cooler weather this week, we knew it was going to be happening. So you might find some patches of more shallow water where you can find a little warmer temperatures.
Sunrise today at 7am Sunset at 5:39pm. Our first low tide will be at 4:56am. And then the second low tide of the day will be at 4:11pm. The first high tide of the day comes at 11:32am. And then the next one is at 10:40pm. All in all, we have 10 hours and 39 minutes of sunshine during today. Sunday fun day. If you're looking to get out on the water. Our tidal coefficient today is a 75 so it's a little bit lower than it has been still high on the scale but a little bit lower than we've seen in previous days.
We are looking at some pretty good fishing activity times as well. Now we're still in the waxing crescent phase of the moon. And so we have some very high fishing activity. today. During some major periods. I'm talking about three fish on the fish scale activity and that's from 1:57am to 3:57am. By the time you're listening to this you've probably already missed that time frame. Also very high activity from minor periods are two fish levels of activity today 8:53am to 9:53am and from 7:51pm to 8:51pm.
All in all we have to give this overall on the fish scale. It's coming into two fish day so it's not terrible. Winds will definitely be playing a factor out on the water and you're going to see some fairly sizable swells. It looks like off shore you're going to be looking at wave height anywhere from one to two feet. So I think it's a little bit less than what it was yesterday whenever we had waves that were over three feet off shore. Either way just avoid those showers in the afternoon and evening and go out there and take advantage of all the bites you can get. Hey everywhere else in the south is bracing for a terrible Blizzard that's dumping not just inches, but feet of snow in some situations and you woke up in the beautiful Florida Keys this morning with a high today of 80 degrees.
It doesn't get much better than that for December the night so it's the perfect day to have a perfect day. This weather report is brought to you by 43 Keys Media. If you are interested in what is going on in our beautiful Florida Keys visit http://43keys.com Also this show is available as an Alexa flash briefing as well as some of our other shows are also Alexa flash briefing. Good Saturday to you! Today is Saturday, December 8, 2018 and our weather forecast for today - we have a little bit of a mixed bag. We have partly cloudy skies today a high temperature of 82 degrees a low of 75. We do have a 20% chance of rain. And I'll talk a little more specifically about when we're going to see that it's mainly going to be in the afternoon. Winds will get up to about 14 miles an hour. Our humidity is 71%.
So it's Saturday, you may be looking to get out on the water. And if you do, I would remind you that - I noticed it last weekend, we had a lot of manatees coming in our canal and they are making their way into the shallower water. So if you are out boating, keep an eye out. You don't even know they're below the surface. And you don't want to be the one that ends up doing a damage to the manatees. After we've already seen. I think the numbers are over 700 that have died from different boat strikes, and then also from the red tide. So it's just been a devastating year for our manatees. So keep that in mind. Keep an eye out for them if you're out this weekend.
Now we have atmospheric pressure on the rise. It starts out at 30.03 and rises to 30.15. Afternoon thunder showers - after about noon, you're going to see 77 to 80% chance of thunderstorms. You're also see the winds pick up a little bit as those storms roll through. You can also end up having some pockets of sunshine where you can actually get out and enjoy the water and the weather.
Our UV index today is a high six, so do take protection. If you're out make sure you're wearing sunscreen. They recommend 30 SPF or higher.
Our water temperature has done exactly what I thought it would do. It dropped off another degree we're down to 76 degree water temperature for the Lower Keys surrounding area. As you get out a little deeper, it might be a little bit different. But that's what we're looking at.
Our sunrise this morning is at 7am sunset will be at 5:39pm. When we look at our tides today, we've got low tide the first one coming in at 4:16am the next low tide at 3:33pm. And then our high tides will be at 10:55am and 10:04pm. Our tidal coefficient today is 78 which is high but it's a little bit lower than it has been in the last few days.
And if you're looking at sounar activity to determine when and where you should fish. Now remember we are now in the waxing crescent of the moon. So our major periods of fishing activity today very high fishing activity from and this is talking about three fish activity very high from one of 7am to 3:07am and the opposing lunar transit. And then during the lunar transit from 1:31pm to 3:31pm, I'm going to try to take advantage of that window of opportunity. But even our minor periods are still three fish activity. So that's very high 8:02am-9:02am is the first period and then the 7:01pm to 8pm is the second period.
So I'll be testing this lunar theory myself tomorrow so wish me luck. Do be prepared it is going to be winds ranging from 10 to 20 miles an hour. You might see some gusts and some higher winds around where the storms are. But again, you should be able to dodge a good many of them if you're out and just keeping your eyes open. So it doesn't matter what we have weather wise here it's nothing compared to the one or two feet of snow that a lot of the South is going to be covered in with the blizzard that's coming across the country. So be thankful you're not there.
We just have normal beautiful December weather with lots of bait fish coming in closer to the reef and that means lots of other predator fish following them to get the bait fish. So all in all it's a perfect day to have a perfect day. This weather report is brought to you by 43 Keys Media.

Happy, happy Friday! And today our weather forecast for Friday, December 7, for the greater Key West area and the lower Florida Keys. Well, I just tell you, we have a beautiful day on tap. We have partly cloudy skies, there'll be some intervals where it's be a little more cloudy and then straight up sunshine. Our high today is 78 degrees, low tonight 72 degrees.
So a little bit warmer than we've had the past couple of days. Only a 10% chance of precipitation.
And we're going to have throughout the day winds from the ENE between 10 and 20 mph. Our humidity is holding steady at the 60%.
We've got a lot to talk about as far as fishing goes, we've got falling barometric pressure, it's going from 30.27to 30.12, and even Are you the index is falling down to a five it's still mom it but five is better than six and seven that we've been having. So still take precautions when you're out there exposed to the sunshine. And then today our sunrise is at 6:59am sunset will be at 5:39pm.
Our first low tide will be at 3:36am. And the next low tide will be at 2:56pm. The first high tide will be at 8:32am and the next high tide at 9:29pm.
You have 10 hours and 40 minutes in the sunshine today and our solar transit will be at 12;18 pm. Our tidal coefficient is 82. Now that's a little bit high. But that's okay. It's been been worse. So we put up with that. So not a problem. Water temperature holding steady at 77 degrees.
Again, it will probably be dropping just a little bit since we've had a couple of cooler days. We're entering the new moon and so we need to talk about the solunar theory. So according to the solunar theory, today you heard it here - will be an excellent day for fishing and the forecast fishing activity will be very high. As evidence of that the major periods of fishing activity and the minor periods of fishing activity are all three fish on the fish scale. So it doesn't matter when you go! Here's the times 12:40pm to 2:40 am minor periods, 7:08am to 8:08am, 6:13pm to 7:30pm.
All of those times, awesome, awesome fishing activity. Now do remember that as we get colder water off shore, a lot of the bait fish will be coming on shore are coming in a little bit closer. So what that means for us is there are bigger fish that are following those bait fish. And they are coming in closer to the reef.
But I'll also tell you the Gulf Stream for today is looking pretty darn good. It's very close. It's pretty close into the land. And at the same time, especially in the afternoon hours - there's only like one foot seas out there. So it's not it's not going to hurt you to get out there.
Now, we do have 14 mile an hour winds or you know, 10 to 20 that are blowing probably average of 14. So we're going to have a little bit of waves - a little bit of chop. But all in all when you've got that kind of fishing activity. Even if you're out there trolling make it happen, because it is prime time to catch some fish. So who knows what you'll find out there!
All in all it's Friday. You know what the rest of the country is getting ready for a blizzard even in the deep south and you're sitting here on a day where it's going to be 78 degrees beautiful day with ideal better than ever fishing conditions. So take advantage of that no matter what you do. It's the perfect day to have a perfect day. This weather report is brought to you by 43 Keys Media. Today's weather forecast for Thursday, December the 6th - today in the Florida Keys Key West area. We start out with a small craft advisory until 5am this morning. So be aware of that. Today we have a high of 76 degrees, a low of 68 degrees. So still a little cooler temperature day our humidity has dropped to 66%, we do not have a chance of rain. So you should be clear skies. Mostly sunny all day long. The only thing you've got to worry about is a 14 mile an hour wind coming out of the Northeast. So all in all, that's a pretty good day, especially if you want to try to do some fishing.
Now let's talk about the atmospheric pressure. It's going to be rising from 30.0 to 30.24. And especially during the afternoon hours, you're going to see that wind kicking up a great deal. That's when you're going to see the 15 mile an hour winds coming. So do be aware of that our UV index for today is a six. So take precautions. Our water temperature is right now still holding steady at 77 degrees. But with this little cool snap. It would not surprise me if it dropped a little bit, another degree or so. Our swells - They start out the day at just after midnight really, really high. And then they drop all day long. So it won't be quite as treacherous out in the open seas. later on this afternoon.
Our sunrise for today occurs is 6:58am and the sunset will be at 5:39pm.
We look at our tide charts. Our first low tide is it to 55 am and the next low tide is it to 18 pm. Our first high tide is at nine 39 am. And the next high tide is at 8:55pm. Overall. Today, you've got 10 hours and 41 minutes of daylight or sunshine, so to speak. And the solar transit is at 12:18pm/
Our tidal coefficient today is an 85 which is fairly high. We're still in the waning crescent of the moon. So let's talk about our Solunar activity. Now we have three fish activity for our major period this morning, which is 11:49am to 1:49pm that is during the lunar transit. Now, very interestingly, both of our minor periods of activity also occur during sunrise and sunset, which means double Wow, extra lucky lots more activity. So very high activity from 6:12am to 7:12am. And from 5:27pm to 6:27pm.
Overall, I gotta tell you, it's a three fish day on the fish scale. So the only thing that you'll really be dealing with as far as you know, obstacles to fishing and getting out there weather wise is the wind and if we look at, you know, the afternoon and evening hours, that's whenever the wind kicks up. And so you just have to be aware tomorrow evening around 7pm or and on toward midnight. We're going to have it drop off just a little bit so might want to try to do some after dark fishing. You never know it's going to be some gonna be some crazy activity out there. So go out and make it an awesome fishing day out on the water.
I heard a friend Tell me yesterday that this past weekend, he caught a 52 pound wahoo in 40 feet of water. So as that Gulf Stream moves in, brings all the sailfish and some of the other big fish into a little closer to the reef, and a little shallower water. Right now the Gulf Stream is just offshore so could be a little bumpy getting out there. But then once you hit the Gulf Stream, I've heard it's really really pretty smooth sailing out there.
So might be worth taking the chance just buckle in for the ride no matter what. It's Thursday. It's awesome. Whether there's a beautiful breeze, there's sunny skies and altogether it's the perfect day to have a perfect day. This weather report is brought to you by 43 Keys Media. Happy hump day everyone. Today is Wednesday, December the fifth and our weather forecast for the greater Key West area. And the lower Florida Keys.
We have partly cloudy skies today, a high of 74 degrees, a low of 61, only a 10% Chance of precipitation today. So that's fantastic. It's going to be very moderate day.
Our winds are going to be from the north at 18 miles an hour and our humidity is 71%.
If you're thinking about getting out on the water today to do any sort of fishing Just be aware we do have rising barometric pressure, it's going from 30.0 to 30.15 highest chances of showers is in between the noon and 4pm timeframe.
So you'll see most of that 10% Chance of precipitation occur right between noon and 4pm. The UV the index today is a 6, so you definitely want to make sure you're taking precautions from those UV rays and protecting yourself when you're out,
Our water temperature around the area is still holding steady at 77 degrees. Today when we talk about being out on the water because we have the 18 mile an hour winds. And because of where the moon is, and the tides and that sort of thing, you definitely need to be prepared. We start with swells in the morning, just over a foot and a half. So that's not terrible. But literally by the end of the day swells are going to be over seven feet off shore. And that's not near shore. But it's off shore. So just be aware, if you're out you're planning on trolling off shore, it might be rough until you get to the Gulf Stream.
Today our sunrise occurs at 6:58am and sunset will be at 5:39pm.
We look at our tide chart. Our first low tide will be at 2:11am. And the next low tide will be at 130 9pm. Our first high tide 8:56am and the next high tide is at 8:20pm. Overall. Today, we have 10 hours and 41 minutes to enjoy our beautiful islands. The solar transit today is at 12:18pm.
If you're looking at our tidal coefficient it's at 85 for today, which is high. And I've already talked about some of those swells. And again, toward the end of the day, you're going to see noticeably higher swell. So just be prepared for that. If you want to talk about the very specific times whenever you can see better and best fishing activity.
Let's talk about our major and minor periods. We have very high fish activity. I'm talking about three fishes on the fish scale from 11am to 1pm during the lunar transit. The same happens during the opposing lunar transit from 11:28pm until 1:28am. That is going to be three fish very good fishing activity. That's our major periods are minor periods got two fishes coming at you from 5:16am until 6:16am whenever moon rises occurring. And the interesting thing about our other minor period today is going to be extra special and extra filled with luck. inactivity because our moon set also coincides with sunset so you can see a possibility of a painting much greater fishing activity from 4:44pm until 5:44pm.
So might change what you're going to do on your sunset cruise tomorrow. But again, if you're off shore, remember, you've got the winds and the swells to deal with. And that is the time when those start getting a little more dangerous out there. So just be aware, if you're looking to rank this day overall, on the fish scale, we're going gonna have to give it a two fish and it's going to get better as the week goes on.
So we got some several three fish days coming up. So if you don't have good luck today, you've always got tomorrow and the next day and the next day. You know why you live and the beautiful Florida Keys you're here you woke up to 71 degree day in front of you. So go out and make it the perfect day to have the perfect day. This weather report is brought to you by 43 Keys Media. You can learn more about our beautiful Florida Keys at http://43keys.com you can get this show as well as today in Key West history as an Alexa flash briefing. It's Tuesday, December 4, and our weather forecasts for today. We've got some scattered thunderstorms this morning. We've got partly cloudy skies in the afternoon.
Our chance of precipitation stands at 40% High today is 82 degrees with a low of 71 wins from the west southwest at six miles an hour. And our humidity is 79%.
If you're thinking about trying to get out on the water and dodge some of the thunderstorms and still catch you some fish. Let's talk about the atmospheric pressure. It's falling today. 30.06 is where it starts out. And then it ends up at around 29.97. If you're out on the water all day to day the winds are going to be very low.
So that is the saving grace and from looking at the hourly forecast, it looks like the afternoon has a better chance of having more precipitation. So after about two o'clock in the afternoon, those precipitation chances get a little greater. But until then it looks like it's going to be fairly clear with very low wins. So it might be a good morning to go ahead and grab you some tackle and head out on the water.
Our UV index today is a six which is moderately high. So please take precautions and do not get more ultraviolet rays than you should have. We need our vitamin D we just don't need the ultraviolet rays are water temperature is holding steady at 77 degrees. It's been that way since our last little cold snap. So until we get more it's probably going to stay right there.
We've got pretty calm waters today. Because of the low winds sunrise today is it 6:57am and sunset will be at 5:38pm. We look over to our high and low tide chart we can see the first low tide comes in at 1:22am. The next low tide is the first high tide will be at 8:06am and the next high tide will be at 7:43pm all day long. You've got 10 hours and 41 minutes of sunshine and daylight.
So it's enough time to go out and make it an awesome day. Now our title coefficient today is 83 in case you're paying attention to that it's 83. So it's a little bit higher than it has been.
And if we want to look at the periods of activity for our solunar charts, let's talk about that we've got very high three fish activity from 10:11am until 12:11pm during the lunar transit. And then during the opposing lunar transit from 10:39pm to 12:39am.
We've got to fish minor activity so not too shabby during the minor periods today as well for the first minor period and then 4:03pm to 5:03pm is the second minor period. So all in all today, if you can dodge a little bit of potential thunderstorms, then you might get out there on the water and have a fantastic catching day. Today. If you look at our overall fish scale, you're going to see it is a two fish day as well as tomorrow will be a two fish day seas are going to be very, very minimal. So it's a great day to be out on the water. Actually, if you can avoid those thunderstorms.
Hey, it's Tuesday. A lot of places in the country are completely frozen. They're having blizzards. They're having crazy weather. And you know what you woke up on an island, you're on an island on a Tuesday. There is the potential that you might want to go fishing. All in all I'd say that's the makings of the perfect day to have a perfect day.

Happy Monday. The weather forecast for today Monday, December 3 for the Key West area and the greater lower Florida Keys.
We have a gorgeous day on tap. A high today of 84 degrees low of 75. It's sunny skies. There's barely a chance of rain. Less than 10% Chance of precipitation. Winds will be coming from the south at nine miles an hour 77% humidity. So it is really really a gorgeous day. Our atmospheric pressure today is on the rise. It's 29.97 and rising to 30.06. as the day goes on.
Winds will be dropping off this afternoon. Around the four o'clock hour on into sunset. You'll see those winds gradually tapering off getting down just barely three miles an hour. Our UV index for today is coming in at a six.
Now like I said, it is going to be sunny all day long. So please make sure you're taking precautions there's not a ton of wind out there. But you'll definitely get a lot of sunburn if you don't take precautions. Our water temperature is holding steady at 77 degrees.
Our air temperature is going to be a lot warmer than that today. So you'll definitely feel a little cool if you take a dip in the ocean.
Today sunrise today 6:56am and sunset will be at 5:38pm. If we're looking at our tide chart. Today we can see that the first low tide is going to come in at 12:26am. And the next low tide will be at 12:16pm. The first high tide is at 7:09am. And the next high tide 7:04pm.
Today we have 10 hours and 42 minutes of sunshine. And the solar transit will be at 12:17pm.
Our tidal coefficient today is 78. So that's the amplitude of waves in the ranges of tides and currents that you'll be experiencing. If you're looking for fishing today, and we like to look at the solunar charts. And we've got some special times of high periods of activity and low periods are major periods today will give us to fish on the fish scale there from 9:22am to 11:22am.
And that's during the lunar transit whenever the moon is on the rise. And we also have high - two fish high activity from
which is the opposing lunar transit, which is the moon setting minor periods, just giving us one fish on that fish scale.
And then 3:23pm to four 23 pm. We'red still in the waning crescent of the moon. We've got to go all the way until the 22nd till we get back to our full moon. New Moon's going to start December 7, and from there we're going to have some pretty good fishing days as it comes up today. Overall, on the fish scale, we're giving it a one fish on the saloon or scale. Now we have lower wins we have a pretty good day of straight up sunshine with very little precipitation.
So if you have a day where you can get out on the water in that happens to be today, you're probably going to go out there and have some fun on the water whether you catch fish or whether you just feed them like I do sometimes. So it's a one fish day to day as we go on through the week, though, Tuesday and Wednesday to fish days. And then Thursday, Friday and Saturday, three fish on the fish scale. So we've got some better fishing days coming. So if you can hold off, you might enjoy the fruits of your labors a little bit more.

The weather forecast for this last day of November, November 30, 2018.
Great news, we're starting to creep back into our average temperatures. For this time of year, our warm up begins today, we're going to have a high of 80 degrees and a low of only 75 degrees, we only have a 10% Chance of precipitation. Winds are going to be from the east southeast at 13 miles an hour and humidity will be 63% got rising atmospheric pressure. Today, it's going from 29.91 to 30.12, or UV index today is dropping to a very moderate three on the scale. So that's great news. If you're going out, you will not have nearly the exposure you've been having.
As I mentioned yesterday, our water temperature has now dropped to 77 degrees all around the keys today, we've definitely got some pretty good swells. And you'll see some white caps out on the water mainly due to those higher winds. And that when they're in the mid teens, you're going to see that it's going to be much more of a chop than we've seen normally sunrise this morning is 6:43am and sunset will be at 5:38pm.
The first high tide that will see will be at 3:10am. And the next high tide will be at 4:22pm. The first low tide will be at 9:44am. And the next low tide will be at 9:59pm. Overall. Today, we have 10 hours and 44 minutes to go out and make some sunshine in the world. So our solar transit will also be at 12:16pm.
If you're looking for our tidal coefficient - Today, it's a very average 56. So not really anything to be concerned about there. When you look at the solunar charts, and you're looking at fishing activity, it's very important to pay attention to the times the tide switch, we have major periods and minor periods. And today our major periods are only two fish on the fish scale. So from 6:55am to 8:55am, when the moon is coming up. That's our lunar transit. That's a high period of activity from the evening 7:25pm to 9:25pm, it's whenever the moon is setting and that is our opposing lunar transit. And that also gives us a to fish on the fish scale. We have a couple of minor periods today that are only one fish on the fish scale.
So that's a coinciding with moon rise and Moon set. So right now our lunar phases in the last quarter moon so it won't be long before we'll be seeing the full moon less than a month away think that scheduled for December 22 right after the winter solstice.
So if you're looking at our overall fishing scale of today, you're looking at a one fish day might not be the best day to go out. But because we have no chance of precipitation winds are going to be a little lower than they have been in the past couple of days but still pretty significant. So just make sure if you're out so just make sure whatever you do, you just pay attention to the conditions and the currents because you can encounter some wins and that sort of thing out there. So the good news is you're not in the frozen tundra that the rest of the country is under and you are in beautiful Florida Keys or the weather and the sun always seem to shine and we have an endless summer and that makes it the perfect day to have a perfect day.
