Have you ever experienced a season of uncomfortable cutbacks or changes? Sometimes pieces of our lives wither and must be released. In other situations, we might bear too much weight or volume in our schedules and commitments.
Whether lifeless or overgrown, we need to prune away that which prevents our spiritual fruitfulness.
Today's guest, Sarah Philpott, shares the spiritual growth principles of pruning. Her farm life perspective lends fantastic insights to our discussion of how and when to let go. Sarah shares how to choose when to allow our soul's fields to lie fallow and rest or when to prune our excess.
She relates our struggles with clutching onto painful dead branches through her personal trials with pregnancy loss. Sarah also shares how some heavy vines in our lives might appear healthy, but could instead sabotage our ability to bear fruit.

American culture treats age as a curse and the elderly as expired goods. I've watched older folks with dread. I often fear the impending years when I could receive the world's judgment of "too old" to contribute, matter, or live with quality.
Our Creator reserves the right to judge our worth or purposefulness at any age, however. History abounds with valid exceptions to the errant standards of American agism. Consider the impact made upon eternity by elderly giants in literature, science, and Judeo-Christian faith leadership. Abraham and Sarah parented the first child of the Jewish line in their nineties. Moses had aged past eighty when he led Israel through the desert. And the Lord blessed Anna to speak prophecy over the infant Messiah during her service as an ancient widow in the Temple.
We are never too old for a new beginning! Who says getting older has to be boring? Tammy Whitehurst talks about how we can age funny, fearlessly, and full of faith.

Have you ever wondered if your life could serve as a positive influence? Leave a legacy, even?
We all create impressions and leave a mark upon others. Most of us remain unaware of the impact we might have upon those around us. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, mentor, or a member of the world community, you leave an impression upon those who encounter you.
A smile or scowl proves just as contagious as a yawn. The perspectives we model can lift others closer to joy and freedom or tempt them into toxic mindsets. Do we encourage peace or suspicion? Judgment or grace? Fear or faith and love?
I've walked through stores and choked on the fragrances others left in their wake when they passed through the space before me. 2 Corinthians 2 suggests we leave a spiritual aroma with the legacy of our lives.
We decide whether we suffocate, sour, or inspire with the influence we share. Now and after we've passed through this space into eternity.
Kathy Howard shares how we can craft our lives into a model for positive influence. Her Heirloom principles reveal the keys to creating a spiritual legacy from the way we choose to live each day.
