Learning to navigate and accept change has been one of the biggest challenges for me since leaving college. This past year, I deleted Instagram, saw a counselor and moved for the first time in my life.
For 25 years of my life, I idolized moving to another city as the most important thing. I thought that if I was in LA or New York I'd be a better person and have more opportunities. After going through an insanely tough breakup I thought my best option might be to just pack-up and leave town. My counselor gave me some of the best advice I've ever received "If you leave because of this, it's all going to come with you". Shortly after this conversation, I decided to stay, I chose to fight for peace in my home and takes steps towards not living in a whirlwind of anxiety.
A huge lesson for me is that sometimes you have to make life work WHERE YOU ARE. Peace, joy, hope, and love can be found within not just by our surroundings or geographical location.
Our willingness to change is a determining factor in how much growth and progress we will see in our life. I wanted to share a short and candid video about what I've learned in the past year and also offer a bit of a life update about where I'm going.
