Flower Circus

In this Flower Circus Talks we get a boost of positive floral energy from Juanita, Melisa and Diana from Jet Fresh Growers, and Jet Fresh Global.  They will tell about the company, and what it is that makes them stand out. And this is not only because of their Hippy Psychedelic Roses. It is much more than that. From the way they grow, to the way they pack.  Helping the customer in every possible way, that is also why they started Jet Fresh Global. You probably guessed it: it's all about tulips!

With Arjan we Talk about this symbol of Holland. About the interesting history of the Tulip (and how it repeated).

We also talk about how long the breeding process is (a whole generation!) and how Tulips are grown, outside for the bulbs, and in the greenhouse for the flowers.

 What started as a crazy idea 10 years ago of making a Tulip mosaic on the  Dam Square in Amsterdam, is now one of the events that TPN organizes. Tulip Days are now also organized in other countries, amongst other great initiatives to promote the Tulip.

In this episode we have Craig Musson from Wafex as our guest.

Craig is telling about how he got into the flower business, and how it grew from a company run from his own house to a now a globally connected company with a client base across 26 countries and offices in Australia, the USA, Kenya and Ecuador.

In this Flower Circus Talks we have Carolien Spaans. The Agricultural counselor at embassy of the Netherlands in Poland, and Kevin van Vliet owner of va Vliet Prague.  The embassy recently published a report about the effects of Covid-19 on the Polish flower growers. 

Together with Carolien and Kevin we discuss the findings of the report.  Although the period was tough the was a enormous willingness from both the growers as well as the traders to get out of this difficult period.  

This was shown again when the markets closed just before the first of November as well, where the local government and even consumers supported all the local flower suppliers by buying their flowers and giving them away to other people.  

The quality of the flowers produced in Poland is very good, and as Kevin says mostly sold as high quality flowers to boutiques. He also believes that the market has a lot of potential, although there are some things that still have to be improved.  This and much more in these Flower Circus Talks
