Where your treasure is, your heart will be also. From Matthew 6:1-21, Evangelist Dale Vance connects giving, prayer, fasting, and missions. Earthly treasure will pass away, but what is laid up in heaven cannot be corrupted or stolen. This is a call to invest our hearts in the work of the gospel. Preached during the Beyond the Brook Missions Conference at The Brook on August 23, 2026.
What has taken the place that belongs to Christ? From Luke 5:1-11, Aaron Moger follows Peter from empty nets and partial obedience to surrender at Jesus’ feet. With Colossians 1 and John 21, he shows why Christ must have the preeminence and calls every hearer to trust Christ and give Him everything. Preached during the Beyond the Brook Missions Conference at The Brook on August 23, 2026.
Christian liberty is not an excuse to serve ourselves. It is an opportunity to serve others for the gospel’s sake. From 1 Corinthians 9:19-27, Evangelist Dale Vance explains how Paul adapted to people without abandoning truth, then challenges every believer to run with certainty, discipline the flesh, and seek to win the lost. Preached during the Beyond the Brook Missions Conference at The Brook on August 23, 2026.
Distraction can keep us from seeing the people God has placed within reach. Preaching from John 4:27-38, James Gardner calls believers to recognize the opportunity, enter the work, and share the gospel faithfully where they are. The harvest is not ours to create, and the results are not ours to control. Our responsibility is to lift up our eyes, labor with God, and trust Him for the increase. Preached during the Beyond the Brook Missions Conference at The Brook on August 23, 2026.
The Great Commission is not only for a few missionaries. From Matthew 28:16-20, Kevin Markham points to Christ’s authority, His command to go, and His promise, “I am with you alway.” God can use ordinary believers who spend time with Jesus, and He sends His church in His power. Preached during the Beyond the Brook Missions Conference at The Brook on August 22, 2026.
Paul’s spirit was stirred when he saw Athens wholly given to idolatry. In this message from Acts 17, Andy Williams calls us to see the souls around us, whether held by idolatry, intellect, or ignorance, and faithfully declare the true God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Preached during the Beyond the Brook Missions Conference at The Brook on August 22, 2026.
The book of Mark ends with four words that change how you serve God: the Lord working with them.
This is the final message in the book of Mark at The Brook, a book we started in December of 2024. Mark is the book of the servant, and Pastor Poke closes it by showing us three servants in Mark 16. The one who came seeking Him before she understood anything. The one who was sent while she was still afraid. And the one who serves knowing she is kept.
He is honest about his own struggle in this one. He talks about being at the altar that morning under his own burden, about running when God called him to preach, and about feeling faithless half the time.
You are going to fail. That is not a reason to quit. It is a reason to keep going on.

They mocked His position, His praise, and His power. They crucified Him anyway. Then a centurion watching Him die said, “Truly this man was the Son of God.” Mark 15:39, KJV.
In part two of our walk through Mark 15, Pastor Poke asks questions every servant has to face. Is it worth serving God when people reject you? Does serving involve dying? This message points us to what sets Christ apart: He died for His people rather than leaving them to save themselves. We also see what it means for our service to leave a testimony in our deeds, our demeanor, and our death.
A quick note: a power outage interrupted this week’s recording, so the message begins during the reading of Mark 15:42-47. The heart of the message is all here.

"But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled." — Mark 15:5
From Mark 15:1-5, this message walks through the morning Jesus stood before Pilate. The council had been watching Him, listening to Him, looking for anything to use against Him — and when the accusations came, He answered nothing. Continuing the series "the memoirs of the servant," Pastor Poke shows three things that spoke for Jesus when He said nothing at all: His WITNESS (they called Him King), His WORDS (the accusations couldn't even agree), and His WORKS (there's a fruit of serving God).
A quiet, searching question runs through the whole message: What is your witness saying about you today?

How do you respond when your faith is tested, your words are twisted, or standing for Christ costs you your comfort?
In this episode of The Flowing Truth, Pastor Poke Shuler delivers a message titled A Message of Hope, concluding Mark Chapter 14 (vv. 57–72). Looking at Jesus’ trial before the Sanhedrin alongside Peter’s denial in the courtyard, we are challenged to examine our identity in Christ when standing before the world. Not everyone will understand or receive the truth you share—some may even defame you to attack the message. But true faith demands a bold, uncompromised declaration.
In this sermon, Pastor Poke walks through three key declarations every servant of God faces:
Declaration of Your Testimony (vv. 57–59): Standing firm when falsely accused or when your words are twisted.
Declaration of Truth (vv. 60–65): Following Christ’s example—holding a peaceful demeanor paired with a bold, declarative profession of faith.
Declaration at Trial (vv. 66–72): Choosing to identify with Jesus through our association, our actions, and our authentic heart response.
Are you willing to be identified with the message of Jesus, no matter the cost? Listen in to be encouraged to reflect His truth, recollect His mercy, and live as an unwavering servant of God.
