  • Restoring the Relationship | 7.19.26 | Kevin Markham

What happens when your sin takes you further than you ever intended to go, and you find yourself far from God? How do you find your way back?

In this episode of The Flowing Truth, Preacher Kevin Markham concludes a three-week series on David’s journey back to God with a message titled Restoring the Relationship from Psalm 51. Following David’s tragedy in 2 Samuel 11 and Nathan’s confrontation in 2 Samuel 12, Psalm 51 reveals what genuine, broken-hearted repentance looks like—and how God’s overwhelming mercy provides a fresh start.

In this message, Preacher Kevin explores:

    • The Petition for Mercy (vv. 1–4): Coming to God based on His lovingkindness and multitude of tender mercies, acknowledging sin for what it truly is.

    • The Divine Work of Cleansing (vv. 5–11): Praying "Create in me a clean heart, O God," and understanding that only God can clean up a broken past.

    • The Propagation of Mercy (vv. 12–19): Praying for the restoration of the joy of salvation so we can teach others and lead them back to Him.

Your story doesn't have to end where your sin began. Tune in to be encouraged that through God's fresh mercies every morning, full restoration is possible.

  • Heart Of A Man | Mark 14 | Pastor Poke

The night before the cross, Jesus went into the garden, fell on his face, and prayed one of the most honest prayers ever recorded. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what thou wilt.

Pastor Poke keeps going through the series A Servant's Memoir and this week takes a slow look at the heart of the greatest Servant who ever lived. If you want to know what a servant's heart really looks like, watch Jesus in the garden. There's sacrifice in it. There's sorrow in it. There's a son who worships his Father with his face on the ground. And there's a surrender that finally rises up and says, it is enough.

If serving God has been costing you something lately, or you feel like you're the only one carrying what you're carrying, sit with this one for a little bit.

  • Praise In Your Prison

Praise In Your Prison | Acts 16 | Brandon Stone

Paul and Silas didn't stumble into that prison. They were dragged there. Beaten in front of a mob, thrown into the inner cell, and locked in the stocks. And at midnight, in the deepest, darkest place they had ever been, they started to sing.

Brandon Stone preaches from Acts 16 on what happens when you praise God in the place you never asked to be. It doesn't matter how you got in the prison. What matters is what you do while you're there. You'll hear about the place they occupied, the praise they offered, the power that showed up, and the man whose whole household got saved because two men refused to stop worshiping.

If you're walking through something right now that feels like a locked door, this one is for you.

  • Memoirs Of A Servant| 5.31.26| Pastor Poke

Pastor Poke Shuler continues the Memoirs of a Servant series in Mark 14, preaching a message about Peter and the moment he was hindered in his walk with God. Every one of the disciples said they would die before they denied Christ. And every one of them scattered when the pressure came.

The Gethsemane is the oil press. It is the place of great pressure where everything in you gets squeezed out. The question Pastor Poke sets before the church is not whether you will face yours, but whether you will be ready when you do. The flesh is weak. That is not an excuse — it is a warning. And God already told you what to do about it.

Watch and pray. That is the escape Peter had and forfeited because he fell asleep. Had he been watching, had he been worshiping, he would have been ready for the denial he never had to go through. What Gethsemane is coming in your life, and are you awake enough to meet it?

  • A Meal & A Hymn | 5.24.26| Pastor Poke

Pastor Poke Shuler preaches from Mark 14 on the meal and the hymn that took place just before everything fell apart in the Mount of Olives. Knowing full well what was coming, Jesus sat down with his disciples, broke bread, poured the cup, and then they sang. That is the picture this message lives in.

The fellowship of the servant's supper, the fellowship of the Savior's sacrifice, the fellowship of the servant's song. Three things that happened at that table before they ever set foot in the garden. And the question Pastor Poke puts to the church is whether those same things mark your memoir as a servant — whether you have given of your body, poured out your life, and kept singing even when the Mount of Olives was waiting.

He will drink it new in the kingdom of God. The table is not over. But until then, are we making the most of the one we have now?

  • Man Of Hazards | 5.17.26| Pastor Poke

Pastor Poke Shuler preaches from Mark 14 on Judas Iscariot — a man who walked with Christ, sat at his table, and witnessed everything the other eleven witnessed. He had every opportunity. And he still walked away.

The word hazard means a chance, a probability, something that can go wrong based on what we do or fail to do. Judas's life was full of hazards not because of one bad moment, but because his heart was never committed to the Lord he followed. He wanted what God provided without wanting God himself.

Jesus looked across that table and still called him friend. He warned him. He gave him every chance to turn. The Son of man goeth as it is written — but woe to the man who makes it happen. Repentance was always an option. Is your heart telling a different story than you think it is?

  • God Save The King | 5.10.26 | Pastor Poke

God Save the King | Flowing TruthHoney Brook Baptist Church | Honey Brook, PA | Preached by Pastor Poke Shuler | May 10, 2026

In Second Kings 11, a wicked grandmother seizes a throne by slaughtering the royal family. But one woman — an aunt named Jehosheba — notices a baby in the chaos and makes a decision that changes everything. She steals him away, hides him in the house of God, and spends six years of her life making sure no one finds him. When the dust settles and the young boy Joash is finally crowned, the people cry out: God save the king.

In this Mother's Day message, Pastor Poke Shuler draws out a question that cuts straight to the heart: how far are you willing to go to have impact in someone else's life? The story of Joash isn't just a piece of ancient history — it's a portrait of what it looks like when God's people take the raising of the next generation seriously. A committed aunt. A faithful priest. A confederacy of captains and guards who surrounded a young king on every side. None of them fully understood what was at stake. They just knew the king was worth protecting.

The application lands close to home. Good men are made by being surrounded by good men. Godly women are shaped by the influence of godly women. Whether it's staying with them in the house of God, taking an oath alongside the people of the church, or putting your spear up before the enemy ever gets close — it costs something to raise a king. And most of the time, the people doing it don't live to see the full result.

Pastor Shuler closes with a challenge that lingers well after the benediction. Look around you. Every person in that room is a potential king. Have you crowned them? Have you drawn your spear? Have you gotten into every corner?

God saved the king. The question is — will you?

  • They Worshiped Him | 5.3.26 | Kevin Markham

They Worshiped Him | Flowing TruthHoney Brook Baptist Church | Honey Brook, PA | Preached by Kevin Markham | May 3, 2026

There are moments in life when everything around us feels like open water; no land behind us, no shore ahead. In Matthew 14, the disciples found themselves exactly there: in the middle of the sea, tossed by waves, fighting the wind through the darkest hours of the night. It was a storm they didn't choose, in a place they didn't fully understand; yet, it was exactly where Christ had sent them.

In this message, Kevin Markham draws our attention not just to Peter stepping out of the boat, but to what happens when the storm finally ends. When Jesus climbs into the ship and the wind ceases, the disciples don't simply breathe a sigh of relief.. they worship. For the first time, they look at Christ and say with full conviction: of a truth, thou art the Son of God. The storm didn't destroy their faith. It deepened their understanding of who He is.

God doesn't always remove us from hard places. Sometimes He puts us in them; to protect us from what's on the shore, to strip away the fear that clouds our vision, and to reveal Himself in ways we wouldn't see otherwise. The disciples needed the storm to recognize the Savior. Job needed loss to fall on his face in worship. And we are no different.

Whether life is holding together or falling apart — whether the pieces fit or half of them are missing — the call is the same. Fear and faith cannot live in the same heart at the same time. When we fix our eyes on Christ instead of the boisterous winds around us, the storms of life stop pulling us away from God and start drawing us toward Him.

What is the storm in your life trying to show you about who He is?

  • A Memorial of Honor | 4.26.26 | Pastor Poke

    PODCAST DESCRIPTION

A Memorial of HonorFlowing Truth | Honey Brook Baptist Church | Preached by Pastor Poke Shuler | April 26, 2026

What kind of story is your life telling?

In Mark 14, a woman walks into a room carrying an alabaster box filled with precious ointment — and she breaks it. Not a little. Not carefully. She shatters it completely and pours every drop over the head of Jesus. The people around her were furious. They called it wasteful. But Jesus said something that has echoed across two thousand years: wherever this gospel is preached, what she has done will be spoken of as a memorial of her.

Pastor Poke opens this passage with a searching question — not just about what we give, but about what our lives are actually pointing to. The alabaster box isn't the story. The oil isn't the story. She isn't the story. He is. And when you understand that, breaking the box isn't extreme. It's the only response that makes sense.

This message walks through the honor of sacrifice, the cost of genuine commitment, and the long reach of a life surrendered to something — Someone — worth giving everything to. Pastor Poke weaves in the widow's two mites, the stories of his own parents, and the faithful men and women whose lives still speak long after they're gone.

The memorial they left wasn't about them. It was about Jesus.

    What will yours be about?

  • Watch | 4.19.26 | Pastor Poke

Pastor Poke Shuler preaches through Mark 13 with one word on his mind: watch.

It starts with a disciple marveling at the stones of the temple — massive, hand-hewn, perfectly fitted. Jesus looks at him and says not one of them will be left standing. From there, four disciples pull Jesus aside privately and ask what every believer eventually asks: when, where, how? And Jesus does what he always does — he tells them the truth. All of it. Two thousand years of it, compressed into a handful of verses.

Pastor Poke walks through the wonder of watching, the warning not to be deceived by what looks right on the outside, the weight of the sorrows to come, and why watching without worshiping is just anxiety with good intentions. Jesus didn't end his message with a timeline or a prophecy chart. He ended it with one word, said to all: watch.

Are you watching? Or have you been roaming?
