  • Brain Damaged In Denver
    Show #110 Release date: 1. May, 2008
After a two hour delay leaving Denver due to snow, I finally made it back to Boston.
Before I get into what this podcast is, I’ve got to say, the Denver meet up was tremendous!  Its was an amazing, kick-ass time, I’ll never forget.  I met a lot of great people and hopefully made some new friends.
Roger and the band sounded the best I’ve heard from the Dark Side tour(s).  There’s a good chance you’ll get to see it on DVD in the future. (and hopefully a near future podcast)
For those of you who didn’t go, we wished you were there. Before the show (and after) we all met at a cool bar across the street from the Pepsi Center, called Brooklyn’s.  This special version of Brain Damage was created for in-house play for AFG members at the bar before the show.  It was difficult to hear inside but outside, it was cranked very loud and it was very cool.

  • Brain Damage Far East
    Show #109 Release date: 19. April, 2008
Fellow Brain Damaged listener, Golgo Hakase of Japan created this podcast featuring an excellent recording from Floyd’s 1972 Japanese Tour at Nakanoshima Sports Center, Sapporo,  Hokkaido, Japan, 13 March, 1972.  So, I’m going to take the back seat on this part of the journey, besides I could use a little break.
For those of you going to Denver to see Roger Waters, I’ll see you there!!!  In the meantime please enjoy Golgo’s creation.  It’s nicely done and doctor approved.

  • Dark Side Of The Silverdome
    Show #108 Release date: 5. April, 2008
The Silverdome, Pontiac, Michigan, 15. July, 1994.  This is perhaps the most historically significant engagement during Pink Floyd’s Division Bell Tour.  Not much else during the tour, in the grand scheme of things, could compare to the second night in Detroit when the audience was treated to a first entire performance of Dark Side Of The Moon since 1975.  We start out with a unique version of Saucerful Of Secrets recorded at the “Amsterdam Rock Circus” in Olympic Stadium, Amsterdam, Netherlands, 22. May, 1972.  It’s ALL doctored up for best possible sound.  Enjoy!

  • Nick Mason
    Show #107 Release date: 21. March, 2008
This podcast features the interests and work of Nick Mason. Most people wouldn’t know it but Nick Mason contributed more than just his drumming.  He’s done some of Floyd’s stage design and graphics.  He’s even done some vocals on occasion.  As for his interests, Nick is a pilot instructor and race car driver.  His love for cars even allowed him the chance to design VW’s limited edition Pink Floyd cars in 1994.  Rev up those engines… finally, its Nick’s turn.
Dedicated to my Godfather and racing pioneer, Ralph Moody Jr.

  • Brew City KAOS

Okay… this is a long one.  Ever since doing the last KAOS podcast (Show #91), I’ve wanted to feature a more complete, consistently better sounding gig from that tour. Recorded live at the Mecca Arena, Milwaukee, WI, 13. November, 1987.  “Doctored for supersound.”  So, roll one up and get back to radio!

  • Deja Vu
    Show #105 Release date: 22. February, 2008
On the 23rd of May 1968, Pink Floyd performed three shows in one evening.  One gig was just outside Amsterdam but the other two were at Paradiso.
The venue was once an old church and has high ceilings and a balcony overlooking the stage area.  Imagine how cool it must have been watching Floyd perform A Saucerful of Secrets with three large illuminated stained glass windows above the stage.
These two gigs took place within the first six months of Paradiso’s opening as a publicly-subsidized youth entertainment center.  It was also one of the first locations in which the use and sale of soft drugs was tolerated, so space out and enjoy.

  • Something Blue
    Show #104 Release date: 9. February, 2008
Tried and true, is the color of blue.  Blue is a teardrop from my eye.  Blue is the notes of a lullaby, and blue is the breeze from the sky.  Blue flows smoothly in streams.  Blue is pretty nice it seems.  I like blue in my dreams. But, then there’s this, my favorite blue, my latest from me to you.  No playlist for this one… makes it more fun.  Enjoy.

  • Home Piggy, Home Piggy!
    Show #103 Release date: 25. January, 2008
The Complexity of staging The Wall live meant that Pink Floyd could not take it on the road, as they had done with live performances of their previous albums.  Instead, The Wall had to be set up days in advance at a select arena, performed for a series of shows, and then dismantled over the course of a couple of days.  As a result, The Wall was performed in only two venues in the United States, and two more in Europe, for a total of just 31 shows.*  This show is the third of six at Earls Court, 6th August, 1980.
