  • Live Earth
    Show #89 Release date: 7. July, 2007
Here’s a quick cast from Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.  Roger just wrapped up his Live Earth concert appearance almost two hours ago.  During Another Brick In The Wall, a special white pig appeared with “Save Our Sausage” written on the side.
This was a great performance by Roger the band.  You can watch it on YouTube but please go to Liveearth.org instead to watch any concert on demand and answer the call… sign the commitment… make the pledge!

  • No Drop of Waters
    Show #88 Release date: 6. July, 2007
The last podcast stirred up a great thread.  I planned to feature the first Waterless Floyd gig but decided to do an experiment instead.  I have for you, Floyd’s last two albums.  Performed live (except Cluster One) all recorded off the soundboard, all arranged in the same order as each album.  This podcast was lots of fun to put together.  Hope you dig it.

  • A Perfect Ending To A Perfect Day
    Show #87 Release date: 22. June, 2007
    27. June 1977, Bostin Gahdin, Bostin, Mazzachoozetts. This is a wicked pissa recoahdin.  This was Pink Floyd’s second and last visit to the Gahdin and their last gig in the Bostin area with Rogah still in the band.  The Animals In The Flesh touah was windin down and the band were wicked ti’ed but they played hahd.  Rogah’s last words “a perfect ending to a perfect day” summed it up well.  Don’t you just love trying to read something in a Boston accent?

  • Standing In Mumbai
    Show #86 Release date: 8. June, 2007
Roger Waters, February 18 2007, MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, India.
This is an AMAZING audience recording done by Rob “the human mic stand.”  The audience is super charged and Roger and the band are in top form.
Roger commented about the event: “My last India experience was phenomenal. The Indian audience really knows how to rock and Bangalore was a fabulous city. I’m looking forward to being in India again, and rocking with my fans in Mumbai. From what I hear of Mumbai as a city, this is going to be a rollicking experience!”

Here is a cool Indian TV news story from IBNLive.com about the concert.
Here is an interview I did for a blogger in India that I mention in the podcast.

  • Madcap’s Last Laugh
    Show #85 Release date: 25. May, 2007
Two weeks ago, 10th of May at London’s Barbican Centre.  This incredible event was a tribute to the late Roger “Syd” Barrett, produced by Nick Laird-Clowes (of Dream Academy) with associate producer Joe Boyd (early Pink Floyd’s producer and founder of legendary UFO club in London). Surprise performances from Roger Waters with Jon Carin then the entire current Pink Floyd line-up (David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Nick Mason) were absolutely unbelievable!
The numerous other artists performing Syd Barrett’s music included Damon Albarn (Blur/Gorillaz), Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders), The Bees, Vashti Bunyan, Captain Sensible, Robyn Hitchcock. The house band included Andy Bell (bass, Oasis), Simon Finley (drums, Echo & The Bunnymen) and Ted Barnes (guitar, Beth Orton).  A remarkably fitting tribute to Roger “Syd” Barrett.  Doctored for supersound!  Here’s the playlist!

  • Live Pros And Cons
    Show #84 Release date: 11. May, 2007
Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking was Waters’ first solo project and tour. Original demos were done at the same time as The Wall demos were made and when presented to the band the others rejected Pros And Cons in favor of The Wall.  Its about a series of dreams about a guy dealing with a mid-life crisis in a motel room.  Sound familiar?  We go back to 22. July 1984 at The Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Before we dive into Pros And Cons, we start this podcast off with three tracks from the “Syd” Barrett, Madcap’s Last Laugh tribute show last night (10. May 2007) at London’s Barbican Centre.  Roger Waters performs Flickering Flame.  David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason perform Arnold Layne. We’ll also hear all the artists (except Roger Waters) cap off the evening with Bike.  Remember, you heard it here first.Italy, 11. August, 2006]

  • Sensory Overload
    Show #83 Release date: 27. April, 2007
At the end of one of my older podcasts, I quickly gave my cell phone number.   Nobody noticed and months went by until a gentleman from Philadelphia called me up.  He left a message and in the message he mentioned something that sparked the entire reason for this podcast.  He shares with us his experience “seeing” Pink Floyd play live at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, 2. June, 1994.  This one’s doctored up for super sound.

  • Soundtracks (part 2) Take One
    Show #82 Release date: 14. April, 2007
This one picks up right where we left off on the last.  Part two of Pink Floyd soundtrack material but this time we’ll get into some of Roger’s and David’s solo compositions and obscure clips used for documentaries as well.  Demo material rehashed perhaps?  Highlights for this podcast are Roger’s When The Wind Blows and my favorite, selections from Pink Floyd’s not so well known racing video, La Carrera Pan Americana.  Here’s the playlist.

  • Soundtracks (part 1) Take Two
    Show #81 Release date: 30. March, 2007
Pink Floyd were no strangers to film soundtracks especially in their early years during the height of artistic, mind expanding expression.  Directors knew without a doubt that Floyd’s music evoked just the right mood that helped move a story along as well as set the pace of any given scene.  For this first installment we’ll listen to Floyd’s early film material.  Here’s the playlist.

  • Fillmore West
    Show #80 Release date: 16. March, 2007
Pink Floyd’s stellar performance at the legendary Filmore West in San Francisco, 29. April, 1970.

“Recorded on Pink Floyd’s third American tour, this show introduced San Francisco to some of the newer material from the Ummagumma LP, and a taste of things soon to come on the Atom Heart Mother LP, to be released later that year. This San Francisco audience is particularly quiet and attentive, a fact that seems to have facilitated a more intimate, unique and focused performance than other dates on this tour” – Wolfgang’s Vault.   Show playlist.
