PVD is the airport code for Providence, Rhode Island. For this podcast, we go back to the 17th of October, 1987. Its the second of two nights about a month into the A Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour. Its the bands first time back to the New England area since 1977 and Floyd first time in Providence since 1973. The southern New England crowd is understandably very excited. I explain more in the podcast but I spent three months doctoring this up and the results have far surpassed my expectations. The podcast starts off with a newly surfaced demo of Yet Another Movie! It’s been a while since I’ve featured a Wall gig and I’ve passed over this one long enough. This is an interesting concert from Pink Floyd’s opening night of The Wall Tour in Los Angeles, California, 7. February, 1980. A few years ago, a new transfer was made from the master tapes but it still had some flaws. Some that were fixed and some that weren’t or went overlooked, anyway, not anymore. If you have this recording already in your collection, you’ll still want to check this out because it will be the best version of this recording you’ve heard. I gave it the doctored treatment! Nothing is better than a big outdoor concert in the summertime! I’m sure Ive said it before but it makes me happy. This is one show I wish I had been to because its got such a cool vibe. Live from Rotterdam, Netherlands, Stadion Feijenoord, affectionately called De Kuip, 4. September, 1994! The band sounds great and everyone is having a good time. The sound quality is excellent to begin with but it had some flaws that needed to be addressed. Its all fixed up and doctored! Here’s the playlist but you really don’t need it. It’s perhaps the most famous Pink Floyd concert. I’ve featured it way back in 2006 but since then, recorder 2 was painstakingly remastered by a guy called ‘Hippopotamus’ in 2013. When Roger announced via Facebook on May 21, 2015 that he would be participating in the 2015 Newport Folk Festival and promised “an intimate appearance specifically crafted set for Newport Folk,” the ambiguity of his declaration had Floyd-heads reeling at the possibilities. I love a good upgrade to well known audience recordings! Who doesn’t? They rarely come around, but when they do, rest assured it will be here, and here it is. From City Hall, Sheffield, England, 22. December, 1970. It features a rare performance of Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast! The sound is amazing to begin with but it’s still doctored up, detailed, if you will. For this podcast, it’s “Live At Leeds” University’s Refectory Hall, 28th February 1970. Just two weeks after The Who’s famous concert recording there. I’ve been meaning to feature this for a while. The sound quality is excellent so  I didn’t need to do much to it but I did boost the level in some places and tweaked it just a little more, added some sweetness. here’s the playlist.
