Sk: Jedného jasného rána, keď slnko len len vykukovalo na oblohu a námestie sa pomaly prebúdzalo do nového dňa plného obchodu a zhonu, Matej sa prechádzal medzi stánkami.
En: One clear morning, when the sun was just peeking out and the square was slowly waking up to a new day of hustle and bustle, Matej was walking among the stalls.

En: He then noticed something small, an animal hiding among the fruit and vegetable stands.

Sk: Matej miloval zvieratá a hneď mu prišlo ľúto opusteného tvora, ktorý sa, ako si myslel, túlal samôtne mestom bez domova.
En: Matej loved animals and immediately felt sorry for the abandoned creature, which he thought was wandering alone in the city without a home.

Sk: "Chúďa mačiatko," pomyslel si Matej a pomaly kráčal k zvieratku snažiac sa ho nenápadne zachytiť do náručia.
En: "Poor little kitten," Matej thought to himself as he slowly walked toward the animal, trying to discreetly catch it in his arms.

Sk: Avšak zvieratko nebolo mačiatko, ale ježko, a patril žene menom Marta.
En: However, the animal was not a kitten, but a hedgehog, and it belonged to a woman named Marta.

Sk: Marta práve predávala ručne vyrábané náramky na druhom konci námestia a nechala svojho milovaného ježka, Janka, aby si trochu prevetral v blízkosti jej stánku, bez obáv, pri teplej zemi.
En: Marta was selling handmade bracelets at the other end of the square and had let her beloved hedgehog, Janko, roam around near her stand without worry, enjoying the warmth of the ground.

En: When Marta returned for Janko, she noticed Matej trying to capture her hedgehog.

En: She hurried over to them, saying, "Wait, that's not a cat, that's my hedgehog Janko!"

En: Matej was startled and looked at the animal in his hands, which was gently rustling with its sharp spines.

En: "I'm sorry," he said, surprised, "I thought it was an abandoned kitten."

En: Marta laughed and explained that Janko was her pet and often people mistook him for a lost cat.

En: Janko seemed content to be back with his owner.

En: Matej then offered to help Marta with her stand, and they spent the whole busy day at the square together, selling bracelets and talking to people.

    Sk: A Janko?
    En: And Janko?

En: Well, he was happy to have made a new friend and that no one would mistake him for a cat again.

En: Pavol took him to the cactus section, where there was one cactus that was truly extraordinary.

En: It had strange, hairy growths, and it seemed naturally green and healthy.

Sk: "Ten je perfektný," povedal Marek a zamieril k pokladni.
En: "This one is perfect," said Marek as he made his way to the cashier.

En: However, what Marek thought was a cactus turned out to be Jana, Ježko, Jana's beloved pet hedgehog, who had somehow wandered into the shop and settled among the cacti.

Sk: Kým Marek objímal svoj "nový kaktus", Jana vošla do obchodu hľadať svojho strateného maznáčika.

En: She saw Marek carrying her hedgehog and didn't know whether to laugh or shout.

    Sk: "Počkaj, Marek!
    En: "Wait, Marek!

Sk: To nie je kaktus, to je môj Ježko!
En: That's not a cactus, that's my Ježko!"

En: Marek was startled and almost dropped the hedgehog in surprise.

Sk: Opatrne položil Ježka späť a všetci traja sa začali smiať nad touto zábavnou zámienkou.
En: He carefully placed Ježko back, and all three of them started laughing at this amusing mix-up.

En: As an apology for the confusion, Pavol offered Marek the most beautiful cactus in the shop, and Marek was more cautious in choosing his green friends.

Sk: Jana a jej Ježko opustili obchod so slzami radosti v očiach, Marek si odniesol doslova nepichľavé rastliny a Pavol zase mal príbeh, ktorý by rozprával svojim zákazníkom ešte veľmi dlho.
En: Jana and her Ježko left the shop with tears of joy in their eyes, Marek took home literally non-prickly plants, and Pavol had another story to tell his customers for a long time.

Sk: Staré mesto Bratislavy bolo plné prekvapení a toto ráno pridalo ďalší veselý príbeh do zbierky nezabudnuteľných spomienok.
En: The old town of Bratislava was full of surprises, and this morning added another merry tale to the collection of unforgettable memories.

En: The city was alive, artists smiled, musical notes met in the air, and new stories emerged everywhere.

En: She stood motionless like a statue, immersed in some inner song, which was a mystery to Lukáš.

Sk: Bez rozmyslu a s úsmevom plným chuti zapojiť sa do všeobecnej veselosti, Lukáš k ľuďom pristúpil, zobral do rúk neviditeľný mikrofón a začal spievať.
En: Without thinking, and with a smile full of eagerness to join the general merriment, Lukáš approached the people, took an invisible microphone in his hands, and started to sing.

En: His voice may not have been like those of big stars, but it had an undisguised love for performances.

En: Let's remember that not all performances are planned, and not all artists are who we think they are!"

Sk: "Lukáš sa poklonil a publikum, hoci zmätené, ho odmenilo potleskom.
En: Lukáš bowed, and although confused, the audience applauded him.

En: Just as laughter and music dispersed, Lukáš and Eva went their separate ways, each with their own path, but with a story that could now be told as a fun anecdote from a Bratislava street during a festival afternoon.

En: added Jana, grinning, unaware that she was talking to a stone.

En: Zuzana was silent for a moment until she noticed how Jana's cheeks turned red and her expression changed to one of alarm.

    Sk: "Oh, ach jo!
    En: "Oh, dear!"

Sk: " jemne zvolala Jana, keď si konečne uvedomila svoj omyl.
En: Jana exclaimed softly, when she finally realized her mistake.

Sk: "Prestaňme sa jej vysmievať," povedala Zuzana láskavo, keď sa k dvom priblížila.
