We wrap up our Canadian Nationals recaps with the best discipline by far - the ice dance, junior and senior. We debate how the top three senior dance teams might fare at Four Continents and Worlds, describe our evolving reaction to Fournier-Beaudry/Sorensen's free dance, and gush over the many amazing junior teams fighting for far too few spots at Junior Worlds.

Any time there's an incredibly talented youngster in an event, there's going to be some disagreement about the rankings.

Gogolev competed at his second senior nationals and delivered a WHOLE LOT. None of our guys were perfect, but it really came down to who delivered the best freeskate.

We also break down some impressive skates in the junior event, particularly from some of our favourites there, The Ice Dancers Who Can Jump.

The Canadian ladies can sometimes be a little underwhelming, and without Kaetly Osmond, this was a different nationals, BUT there were still some great skates and a whole lot of top juniors who have a whole lot of potential going forward.

The problem, though, comes with the assignments for the second half of the season. We speculate RAMPANTLY about who will get those last 2 spots at worlds!

This was an intense week in figure skating. We break down the skates from our senior competitors (including some amazing up and comers).

We discuss how difficult Korea's ranking competitions can be for the top skaters competing at Nationals, gush over new programs from the Chinese pairs, and take a look at some of the up-and-coming skaters from both countries.

The Japanese ladies had almost as strong a field as the Russian ladies, and we discuss the many amazing skates we saw at Japanese nationals this year. We discuss some amazing triple Axels, skaters struggling with injury or coaching changes, and how heartbreaking it is when a skater's best still isn't enough for the podium. Plus, we take a quick look at the Pairs event.

We begin our recap of this year's Japanese Nationals with the men, and discuss our favourite step sequence of the competition, the quad troubles a lot of the men were having, and which other skaters we would love to see make a come back. Plus, we take a quick look at the Ice Dance event.

And finally we recap the men of Russian Nationals, who had a very up and down event. We discuss our excitement over the return of Kovtun and his upcoming presence at Europeans, the ailments of both Voronov and Kolyada, and are cautiously optimistic about the future of some skaters who were only able to showcase one solid program at this competition.
