Our destination is Spring Creek in central Pennsylvania. Our guest is the one and only Joe Humphreys. Now in his 90’s, Joe is a national treasure, having instructed thousands in the art of fly angling, traveled the world representing the U.S. in fly fishing competitions, guided presidents & celebrities, hosted the first national fly fishing show on ESPN, and was inducted into the Fly Fishing Hall of Fame. He’s also starred in several highly successful instructional videos and even a documentary about himself called Live the Stream. For 19 years, Joe directed the renowned angling program at Penn State and has lectured throughout the United States.
Spring Creek is one of the finest limestone streams in the world, famous for dense populations of wild fish but also famous because it’s Joe’s home water. So sit back and pull up a chair for a fireside chat as Joe shares tips and stories from a lifetime of angling experiences in Part 1 of a 2 part episode.
