Fold in the Cheese: Your Recipe for Fantasy Football Success

Yup, we are in that no man's land of time between the end of Championship weekend and the Super Bowl.  It is two loooong weeks until we are able to see those lights shine on Sunday night.  Sooo, Boobie Miles and Mike Winchell bring you back to those Friday night lights until then!  Catch up on the glory days of school and learn that Ethan and Kemp actually sucked at college (in the beginning), and that Sorento water still sucks.  We take a deep dive into our awesome registration times and our brutal first year seminars.  Oh yeah, we talk about football too...

Because the PRO BOWL IS THIS WEEKEND!  That's right, get ready for all the amazing action of players going at about 40% and just trying to avoid injury.  Will Cooper Kupp play this weekend?  He's listed as the starting WR so maybe he is just getting a warmup in.  Do It Bets are back so see what wild bet we come up with this time.  Don't worry, with the Big Game coming, there will be lots more props, DFS and other bets just around the corner!

We have been telling you all season, "On Any Given Sunday..." anything can happen in the NFL and these playoffs have certainly shown us that.  However, before we talk Championship weekend and a mention of some big game, we had some breaking news as we recorded.....Willie Beamen is going to be the new quarterback for the expansion team in Albuquerque, Brady Gelfand turns 5 today, and something happened officially with a guy whose last name is Brady.

We talk a bit about the GOAT and his legacy, and what it means for the rest of the NFL.  Will this mean the new generation of quarterbacks will take center stage, and grab the spotlight away from the old vets like Cap Rooney?  We also break down the championship games and look forward to the Big Game.  We may have to make our own music video to get us hyped for that one...

Does water suck?  Does Gatorade do more to quench your thirst?!  Don't let that devil talk be spoken around Bobby or he will Terry-Tate you in a heartbeat.  Bobby and Coach Klein preview Championship weekend as we get ever closer to the Super Bowl.  It's crunch time and the match-ups are even tighter.  We channel our best Vicky Vallencourt impressions to guess the scores exactly...just ask Lynn Swann 

Are the Mud Dogs playing this weekend?  What is the prop bet for number of sacks that will occur?  One of those two questions actually gets discussed as we do our playoff pigskin pick'em and breakdown match-ups and props that are going to be seen this weekend.   Also, while discussing DFS, we had something happen for the first time in FITC history.  Trust me, it is monumental, and even more magical than the high quality H20 coming from that majestic glacier

It's football movie time, and we are starting with The Replacements, a truly underrated football flick.  Who doesn't love Keanu Reeves as the replacement quarterback, and John Favreau as a maniac linebacker?!  Bateman was definitely yelling "I got the ball!!" after all those fumbles in the Bucs/Rams game and Gruff was the hero in three of the match ups as kickers won 3 games on walk-off field goals.  There was a lot to dissect in the divisional round and don't know if championship weekend will be able to replace the excitement (see what we did there...)

Kemp was still hot after the Titans exit so it took him a little bit to cool down.  But Kemp will take solace because, don't forget, since Ethan lost a close tie breaker for the Do It season long bets, he still needs a punishment.  Will he be channeling the Sentinels football team in jail and doing some Tik Tok dances?  Will Fumiko provide all the waffles and pancakes for the 24 hr challenge?  We want to hear it!  Send a message over to [email protected] or by hitting up our Facebook page or twitter @thefitcpodcast!

We talked to Lin Manuel Miranda and he approves this message***(disclaimer, we did NOT talk to him, don't sue us).  However, while everyone isn't allowed to talk about Bruno, we DO talk about what is going to happen in the Divisional round of the playoffs.  It looks like the Titans are getting their gift today as Derrick Henry is ready to Luisa back on the big stage, no surface pressure here.  Matt Stafford must be able to hear a pin drop because he heard Kemp's words about a choke job and stepped up in a big way.  He continues to hear the chatter so let's see what he does against the Bucs.

Who's missing some teeth after this wild card weekend?  Anyone get a face tattoo?  There was some great and wild action in the first weekend of the playoffs with some great story lines.  The Bengals finally got the monkey off their backs and made Mike Tyson proud as a tiger owner, The 49ers proved it pays to not have a coach who works at a chapel in LV, and Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen seemed to be counting cards and made their victories too easy.

We added to the wolfpack this episode as Dan from Bettor Off joined us to talk the action, and to also ask for some help.  He's working in a keeper league and needed to know which 3 to keep and form a new wolfpack.  Things get heated as we try and figure out what strategy to approach.

Finally we recap the Do It Bet board and see who was the season long champion.  A punishment awaits the loser, so hopefully it doesn't involve any tazer shots to the face...

Just a warning, if you haven't seen Vivo, beware, the soundtrack will get stuck in your head.  You have probably seen Encanto by now, so if you want those songs out of your brain, and want to replace them with just as catchy tunes, watch Vivo.  But I digress...  The playoff picture is finally set, and it was wild getting here.  Almost as wild as a Kinkajou (google it) traveling from Cuba to Miami to deliver a song.

The final week of the NFL regular season is here and this season has been one for the ages.  Hopefully no alligators jump out and take our hands off, but with everything that has gone on this year, anything is possible.  Playoff positions are being determined, with some teams battling for those last coveted spots as they're all going for that gold jacket...errr I mean Lombardi trophy in the end.

Kemp can bomb his drive over 400 yards, but is his short game good enough to defeat Shooter in some Happy Gilmore trivia?  Maybe Shooter will plant a heckler in the crowd and Kemp will end up fighting Bob Barker, who knows - I mean he was Anger last episode.  Be sure to check out our last Pig Skin pick em picks as Ethan has some ground to make up.  He makes some wild takes as he tries to climb back up the leader board.  Finally, our Do It Bet of the week is one for the ages, so strap in, and you may want to make some bets on it yourself so you can buy your Grandmas house back

So that happened...  Fantasy championships are officially over and our emotions are officially coming from the Inside, Out.  See what I did there?  Kemp and Ethan were both in championships and both lost, so see which owner corresponds to which emotion.  Hint, it doesn't take long to figure out...

Week 17 had some killer performances that most likely won you your championships (looking at you Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase), and some duds that probably lost them (Zeke Elliott, I mean come on).  The most disgusting part though are the decisions that left some of those big points on the Bench.  I fear that we may need to come up with a new way to evaluate match ups, to ensure we feel Joy in the upcoming fantasy seasons.  Blind resumes may be more important than ever!
