Mass Shootings in America Since April 30th, 2023 We usually attempt to focus more on people, and those internal issues that lead to the state of our mental, physical, and emotional well-being. However, this week has been one of loss due to mass shootings, and we will address this matter as it seems to be an epidemic that is taking over the lives of all of us.
I really hope this is not the state of our country moving forward, we must do something to deal with the underlying issues causing people to murder innocent Americans for misguided beliefs accentuated by unmet or undiagnosed mental health issues. We cannot just incarcerate, or institutionalize people, we have to address this mental health crisis in this country.
Is this America? What happened to the land of the free, home of the brave?

On April 19th, 1943 a gifted young woman was born in McAllen, Texas. Ruth Evlyene Jones, a gifted pianist, educator, restless wanderer, mother of 8, and a woman of immense faith. She had an angelic voice, a sharp intellect, courageous spirit, and toughness about her that she employed to survive the challenges of the world around her, she just happened to be my mother. In this episode, I reflect on impact she had on and in my life, I share a slice of her wisdom, and fail to mention that her gifted music and voice would transfer from generation to generation. She possessed a humility, grace, and flair that was fearless for a woman of her stature, and yet, she knew how to turn scars into stars. This brief episode shares the same title as the unfinished book entitled The Book of Ruth, which tells the story of this remarkable black woman. Happy Heavenly Birthday MA! Miss you Mucho Grande.

As we conclude the final chapter of our trilogy on faith, Rod Myers summarizes the key take-a-ways from the prior two episodes, and draws toward a conclusion encouraging you to consider your faith, why you believe what you believe, and to address those areas within your faith that do not make sense. Brother Myers suggests that you find someone you trust to partner with you in exploring the tenets of your faith, to read those books that represent the source of your faith, and finally, to consider Jesus and the Bible, which has withstood immense scrutiny throughout mankind's history.
We are grateful to Brother Rod Myers for his willingness to spend time hosting our program in an effort to share with our audience his teachings, and his passion for his faith. He continues to be a servant leader working to educate and illuminate people all over the world to consider Christ.
May God Bless!

We begin our first-ever three-part series on faith with Retired Minister & Evangelist Rod Myers of Sarasota, Florida. Rod steps in as guest host for the next three weeks with an informative, enlightening, and engaging conversation about the foundation of faith, which is an open, honest, and educational reflection on something we all have...faith! Yes, even those who claim they believe in nothing, are espousing a faith. Mr. Myers has spent 52 years as a servant leader sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ across the world. He has been actively involved in mission work in Haiti, Kenya, and several other countries in the world. Throughout this series, Rod challenges you to consider the tenets of your faith, ask yourself why you believe what you believe, and examine the foundations of your faith. He carefully crafts a conversation that is inviting, and open, but, most of all, one that is easy to embrace. I met Bro. Myers over 30 years ago, I was a young Airman at the time who started attending the Boca-Delray church of Christ, Rod and his family enveloped us with warmth and grace that is sorely lacking today. One could say it was a somewhat special congregation of people. When the idea of doing a worship/religious/spiritual series, I could think of no one I respected more to present to our audience than Rod Myers.
So, I hope you'll stay for the entire series, and share each episode with your friends and family. Make sure to like and subscribe to not only our podcast but, our youtube channel as well.
May God's Grace cover you.

We are pleased to have host the show for the next three episodes Retired Minister and Evangelist Rod Myers of Sarasota, Florida for a conversation and exploration of the Foundations of Faith. Mr. Myers takes us through the steps of faith in an objective, inquisitive, and educational manner that encourages an open mind and open heart. The discernment in which he presents the material is not so much religion as it is an explorative consideration of why we believe what we believe and encourages us to reconsider the tenets of our faith.
When considering doing a series on faith, I could think of no better person to host it than Rod Myers, says Gene Folkes. He not only talks the talk but, he has walked the walk for over fifty years. A servant leader who has shared the gospel across the world. We hope you find this series as compelling as we did.
May God Bless you!
