How are you doing with your "New Year's Resolutions"? We're well into 2019 and, unfortunantly, some of us aren't as "goal oriented" as we were at the beginning of the year. Webster defines a goal as, "the end toward which effort is directed."
Last Sunday, as we celebrated our Lord's resurrection, we opened God's Holy Word to the Book of Philippians, chapter 3, where the Apostle Paul shares with us his three goals as a follower of Christ. We see "the end" toward where Paul focused his effort. Pastor Olu challenged us to ensure that our efforts, like Paul, were focused to a very specific end, found in a very specific person. Join us in your copy of God's Word in the book of Philippians, chapter 3 verse 10.
Do you know God? Not just know about Him, but truly know Him? In today's message we look at what distinguished those who violated their covenant with God vs. those that knew God in Daniel chapter 11. We look at what it means Bibilically to "know God" as well as specific actions the Apostle Peter commands us to engage in to ensure we obtain the power and peace brought about through true knowledge of God. Join us in your copy of God's Word in Daniel chapter 11 and be ready to spend some time in 2 Peter chapter 1.
In today's study of the Scriptures we see how in the midst of tyranny, persecution, and a pre-Hitler holocaust God's chosen people had a choice to make. Would they succumb to the pressure surrounding them and violate their covenant with God? Or would they honor His Word in adhering to the ethical, civil, and religious responsibilities God directs His people to obey.
Join us as Pastor Olu asks what are the Biblical principles we've purposed as the foundations of our belief, behavior, and thought process; what is our posture dealing with others in the world we live in, and what is our position after examining our faith - in or out? So turn with us in your Bibles to Daniel chapter 11, verse 22
Bro Omar investigates and unpacks the question, Does God choose sinners to be saved and then provide for their salvation? Or, Does God provide the way of salvation that sinners must choose for themselves?
So grab your bible and follow along with us, as we explore Gods word here on Followers of the way.
Pastor Olu continues our World Engines: Daniel Series by walking through Daniel chapter 11, verses 1 - 20. For decades, the incredible accuracy of the prophecies in this portion of Scripture have proven a thorn in the side of secular critics. Its precise foretelling of Alexander the Great, the Greek Empire, and the Syrian Wars of the Diadochi – several hundreds of years before the events unfolded – serves as more evidence that Jehovah God is the One True God.
In it we once again see the sovereignty of God in His declaration, dictation, intimate involvement, and final consummation of humanity’s affairs – all toward fulfilling His Holy purposes. We see how the Sovereignty of God provides assurance that God is in control of every aspect of life. And that as followers of Christ, we have no need to be shaken by the chaos of this world.
Bro Omar investigates and unpacks the question, Does God choose sinners to be saved and then provide for their salvation? Or, Does God provide the way of salvation that sinners must choose for themselves?

Pastor Olu says that we as Christians should set our hearts to understanding by taking time to read and study God's word. He says that when we study God's word and line up with what His word says, the by product is hope that awaits expectation.

Brother Omar reminds us that for those that are in Christ, death and sin no longer has a hold of us. Because of this we are no longer dead in our sins but alive in Him because of the Resurrection of Jesus.

Bro Omar reminds us how the Resurrection of Christ frees us from sin. Bro Omar also teaches us that when Jesus died on the cross, the ordinances of the law were nailed to the cross with him. Bro Omar also reminds us that when we are in Christ, death and sin no longer has a hold of us.
