My sermons are the fruit of nearly 30 years of pastoral ministry, biblical counseling, formal seminary training, and a lifelong passion for God's Word. Since childhood, I've been drawn to the beauty and power of expository preaching—opening Scripture verse by verse and applying it to real life. After graduating from Moody Bible Institute, I spent the next 27 years serving as a youth pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and host of the Food For Your Soul radio broadcast. Along the way, I also earned a Master of Sacred Literature and a Doctor of Religious Studies. For more content from D. Richard Ferguson, visit TreasuringGod.com. • The Urgent Need for Bibles!
Jason Woolford is the President and Executive Director of Mission Cry. When we compare the United States to the rest of the world, we are a land of plenty. We have plenty of food. People from other countries marvel when they walk in our grocery stores and see all the varieties and brands of each food and full shelves. Compared to the rest of the world, we have plenty of fresh water. There are many who have little or very dirty water. We have much technology and quick access to it. We have Christian broadcasting available over the air and by way of apps. We have many churches scattered all over the state and around the country. And we have the Scriptures; not just a single copy that a whole church or region has to share, but we have multiple copies in our home where each person usually has more than one Bible. But there are many around the world who long to have their own copy of the Scriptures, but due to either lack of resources or lack of supply, they do not. However YOU can change that.

  • Is Halloween a Sin? It's Not the Candy. It's the Table.
Daniel 1:8 — Should Christians celebrate Halloween? Is church trunk-or-treat harmless? A Bible answer for parents from Daniel 1. This expository preaching message from Daniel 1 answers the question every Christian parent faces each October: should Christians celebrate Halloween? Pastor Fortunato doesn't hand you a list of rules. He walks you through what Babylon did to Daniel (took his home, his schooling, his food, and his name) and shows why "it's just candy" misses the point. The trouble was never the candy. The trouble is the table. If you've been asking whether a church trunk-or-treat is any different, whether it matters where Halloween started, or how to say no without being unkind or raising a legalist, this message was preached for you. It is a family integrated church sermon, so children and parents were in the room together. Daniel purposed in his heart before the table was ever set, and this message shows how to help your children do the same. This verse-by-verse KJV sermon walks through Daniel 1, 2 Kings 18, and 1 Corinthians 10, explaining: - Why Babylon always starts with the young, and wants the best of them - Why Babylon took the holy vessels and what that says about trunk-or-treat - Why it doesn't matter where a thing started, only what is burning in front of it (Hezekiah and Nehushtan) - Why Babylon gives new names, and what children say when they answer the door in costume - What "the idol is nothing" actually means in 1 Corinthians 10, and why the table is still the table - How Daniel said no with kindness, courtesy, and care for the man in charge, without legalism - How to train children to pass up the king's table

  • Covenant Connection
How can we connect the work of Moses in the Old Testament with these sacraments that Jesus has given us in the New Testament? This sermon examines 1 Corinthians 10:1-5 to demonstrate that the God of the Old Testament and the New Testament is one unchanging God who saves through the same substance: the work of Jesus Christ. By analyzing the Israelites' passage through the Red Sea and their consumption of spiritual food and drink, the message argues that these events were covenantal types pointing to Christ, rather than independent acts of salvation. The preacher warns against the dangerous error of assuming that participation in church rituals or moral goodness guarantees safety, noting that many in the wilderness perished despite being surrounded by divine grace. Instead, true assurance rests on recognizing that baptism and the Lord's Supper are effective only when they point believers to the finished work of Christ, who alone satisfies the demands of the law and provides the basis for eternal life.
