Back in January, the UK government reached an agreement with the DUP to restore the power-sharing government in Northern Ireland. DUP leader Jeffrey Donaldson made the unambiguous claim that this deal removed the "Irish Sea Border" and that there would be an end to all the checks currently in place. On the back of this the DUP trotted back into Stormont.  Yesterday, the NEW DUP leader Gavin Robinson casually announced that the Irish Sea Border was actually still pretty much intact but IF people vote DUP this time they will definitely try to remove it.
