in 1 John 2:7-11, John says that the old commandment to love one another has been made new in Jesus. Pastor Mike explains what John means by this and shows us how this is really good news for us.

In 1 John 1:5, John says that "God is Light." Light reveals things for what they really are, and today, Pastor Mike shows what God's light reveals about humanity and about His Son, Jesus.

Pastor Joe looks at 1 John 1:5-10 and encourages us to run from the darkness and walk in the true light - the light of Christ.

The 3 letters John wrote to the house churches of Ephesus were written for a couple of reasons - namely to encourage the church to stay unified in the face of divisive forces in their city. This is relevant for us today in our divisive national climate, and Pastor Mike exhorts Foothills to stay united.

Unity among members of the body of Christ is commanded in the Scriptures - and it must start with the unity of people in the local church. Pastor Mike calls for unity at Foothills in the midst of the divisiveness in our nation.

In the final sermon in The Resurrected Jesus sermon series, we see Jesus appearing to Saul of Tarsus - a man bent on stopping the spread of Christianity in the first century. When Jesus confronts him on the Damascus Road, He not only confronts Saul about his persecution of the early Christians, but He also confronts Saul about his deeply entrenched racial prejudice. Saul was a Pharisee, and Pharisees detested the Gentiles (any race of people who were not Jews). That day on the Damascus Road, Jesus told Saul that he would now be His ambassador to the Gentiles. No longer would Saul be able to hold on to his racial prejudice toward them. From that day forward, Saul would have to deal with his prejudice toward them, learn to love them, serve them, and work alongside of them for the sake of the Gospel. And over the years, he did! Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Saul was able to love and serve a race of people he once detested. And THIS is what Pastor Mike speaks about today. Racial prejudice has no place in our country - and for sure, it has no place in the church.

For 600 years, the coming of the Holy Spirit had been promised. Jesus' work on earth was done, and at His ascension, He told his disciples to stay in Jerusalem and await the coming of the Holy Spirit. Pastor Mike looks at this episode from Acts 2 and encourages us to work together in order to see the Holy Spirit unleashed in and through us today.

It was time for Jesus to go back to the Father, and He invited His disciples to wait for Him to witness the whole thing. Pastor Joe takes a look at this episode of the resurrected Jesus and makes timely application from it to us today.

Jesus had risen from the dead, and now it was time for His disciples to get to work. They had been with Jesus for 3 years, and He had taught them everything they needed to know. Pastor Mike looks at Jesus' Great Commission in Matthew 28 and shows us that His words then are still very relevant for us today.

Peter had just denied Jesus three times on the night of Jesus' crucifixion. Jesus had every right to cut Peter off, but in today's sermon, Pastor Mike looks at the resurrected Jesus' account with Peter - and instead of cutting him off, Jesus recommissions Peter for Kingdom work.
