I greet you in Jesus’ precious name! It is Monday morning, the 28th of April, 2025, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today.

We go straight to the Book of Isaiah 63:9:

”In His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bore them and carried them all the days of old.”

Then we go to Hebrews 13:5, where the Lord says:

”I will never leave you or forsake you.” 

He says, ”I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you.” I want to read a little story to you that you know very well, but I think it’s worth listening to again because maybe I’m talking to somebody who says, “Lord, where are you? You promised me, Lord, You promised me that You would never leave me, You would never forsake me, but I am going through my deepest time of testing and I need Your help.” It is called Footprints In The Sand:

“One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each, I noticed footprints in the sand, sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was only one.

During the low periods of my life I could see only one set of footprints, so I said, ‘Lord, You promised me that You would walk with me always. Why then when I have needed You the most, You have not been there for me?

The Lord replied, “The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried You."

Father God,

I want to pray for my dear friend listening to this message that they will realise that today you have promised us that You will carry us on Your shoulders when we can’t walk any longer, and You will strengthen us and You will ensure that we get to our destination which is ultimately to be with You in Heaven, forever and ever, amen.
