Many Christians believe they can add millions of years into the Bible. And usually it’s the days of creation that get stretched out to be millions of years long each. But when God gave the Sabbath commandment in Exodus it says, “for in six days the Lord made” everything. God commanded the Israelites to work for six days, and rest for one day. This copies the pattern God established during creation week.
If God didn’t create in six days and rest for one, then this command was meaningless. Should we work for millions of years and then rest for a million years? Of course not!
You can’t fit millions of years into Genesis!
