India Davis never went to business school, had no formal business background, and opened her boutique without a traditional business plan. She simply believed she could do it—and got to work.
In this episode of the For Profit Podcast, Matthew Pierce sits down with his lifelong childhood friend to discuss India’s journey from helping at her grandmother’s snowball stand to becoming the co-owner of Jolie & Myrtle Boutique in Donaldsonville, Louisiana.
India shares how being raised by her grandparents shaped her work ethic, why she refuses to see herself as a victim, and how years of side hustles prepared her to take the biggest risk of her career. She also takes us behind the scenes of sourcing products at the Dallas Market, building a storefront from scratch, navigating customer feedback, and opening a thriving local business in only a few months.
This conversation is for anyone who has a dream but feels unqualified, unprepared, or afraid to begin.

The childhood experiences that created India’s work ethic
Choosing responsibility instead of a victim mindset
The role her husband and family played in her journey
How Jolie & Myrtle Boutique began

Jace Lopez joins Matthew Pierce on the Forprofit Podcast to share how he went from playing college football and working offshore to building Apex Training, a successful coaching business, and a community centered on personal growth.
Jace opens up about waiting months for his first personal-training client, working from 4:00 a.m. until late at night, and eventually growing from a small rented space into his own gym. He also explains why attempting to manage the business from California failed—and how systems, culture, mentorship, and business coaching helped him become a stronger entrepreneur.
Beyond fitness, Jace shares the personal transformation that changed the direction of his life. He discusses leaving the party lifestyle behind, strengthening his relationship with God, learning to lead his family, and coaching clients through the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical areas of their lives.
Matthew and Jace also discuss choosing the right mentors, investing in yourself, overcoming procrastination, raising the next generation, and the future expansion of Apex Training.
For Jace, success is not simply about revenue, clients, or assets. Real profit is having the peace and freedom to be present with the people who matter most.

In this episode of The For Profit Podcast, Matthew Pierce sits down with Clint LaCour, Co-Founder and CEO of Rêve | Realtors, one of Louisiana’s leading independent real estate brokerages. Clint shares how his small-town upbringing, family work ethic, and early exposure to real estate shaped the way he thinks about business, leadership, and culture.
From getting his real estate license in 2006 to launching Rêve in 2018, Clint walks through the decision to leave the easier franchise path behind and build something independent, intentional, and agent-focused. He talks about the importance of collaboration, difficult business conversations, seeking expert help, and creating an environment where agents can grow.
This conversation is about more than real estate. It’s about building a company with values, making hard decisions, and defining profit as fulfillment, happiness, and impact.
Clint LaCour is listed as CEO and Partner of Rêve | Realtors, and Rêve’s own materials describe the company as built around relationships, integrity, collaboration, and agent support.

Description
In this episode of the For Profit Podcast, host Matthew Pearce sits down with Cliff Ourso of Ourso Insurance to talk about family business, leadership, hiring, growth, and what it really takes to build something that lasts.
Cliff shares how his family’s insurance agency grew from its roots in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, how early lessons from farming and the family flower shop shaped his work ethic, and why he eventually chose insurance after originally planning to become an attorney.
This conversation covers the real side of running and scaling a business: hiring before you feel ready, leading employees well, navigating hard market conditions, using AI inside an agency, and redefining success as life and business evolve.
Cliff also shares one of the strongest lessons from the episode: if you need 10 people, hire 12. It is a practical reminder that growth requires capacity, leadership, and the willingness to build ahead of demand.
This episode is a great listen for business owners, entrepreneurs, insurance professionals, and anyone interested in learning from Louisiana leaders who are building with purpose.
