"Our culture can just be ornamental and recreational. That's what Waikiki is! Our culture has to be the core of our resistance, the core of our anger, the core of our mana - that's what culture is for." - Dr. Haunani-Kay Trask.

Oakland Unified School District's (OUSD) Asian Pacific Islander Student Achievement (APISA) Program is in jeopardy of losing funding because of budget cuts. Support students and educators by signing the petition, sharing the link to get others to sign it, and showing up to 286 E. 10th Ave. on Monday, 2/25 at 6PM to stand in solidarity. A lot of our Tongan and Sāmoan students are advocating for their program.

"Ego-identification with things creates attachment to things, obsession with things, which in turn creates our consumer society and economic structures where the only measure for progress is always more. The unchecked striving for more, for endless growth, is a dysfunction and a disease. It is the same dysfunction the cancerous cell manifests, whose only goal is to multiply itself, unaware that it is bringing about its own destruction by destroying the organism of which it is a part of." - Eckhart Tolle.
