Jobs that meets the world’s needs don’t have to pay a pittance–good news for the growing number of professionals who want to take home competitive compensation for doing work that makes a positive difference.

In case you hadn’t noticed, side jobs have become a new norm in many parts of the U.S. As the economy continues to rebound, however unsteadily and unevenly, and healthcare reform pressures small businesses to hire more workers on a part-time basis, it’s becoming more common for young professionals — especially millennials — to hold down multiple jobs at once. If you’re considering picking up another job to make ends meet, here’s what you ought to know.

Shutterstock There are many milestones one could argue indicate adulthood: an 18th birthday, a college graduation, a job with proper health insurance, etc. Research states the brain is more developed in our late 20s than our early 30s,  better equipping people to make significant decisions closer to 30 than to 20. Meaning that by 30 years old you are indisputably a fully grown, emotionally mature adult.
