Since then, newly elected government officials at every level have tried to follow his example and accelerate progress over their first 100-days. Great. The problem is that their plans focus entirely on early wins.

The article pointed out that with a Republican controlled House and a Democratic controlled Senate, Clinton’s economic platform was unlikely to see the light of day.And then Trump triumphed and the Republicans kept control of the Senate. So much for the polls and pundits.

Howard Schultz, the chairman and chief executive of Starbucks, told the company’s workforce this morning that he is “stunned” by the U.S. presidential election’s results, but urged everyone to accord President-elect Donald Trump “the opportunity to govern well and bring our country together.” Schultz is well-known for his broad-ranging interest in improving America’s civic life, as documented in this FORBES cover story earlier this year.

All business owners and executives have varying experiences and perspectives on the approach and qualities necessary for effective leadership.
