Video games are, of course, not immune to the crypto fever. And in fact, there’s a lot in common between the two.

Matt Perez and Forbes Contributor Dave Thier talk about the different segments linking the blockchain and gaming, from the new ventures incorporating coins into their economies, to the potential of digital marketplaces selling games in Bitcoin, to crypto’s immediate impact on the GPU marketplace. What are the future implications of marrying games and cryptocurrency aside from unbearable arguments over whether it’s a bubble or not?

Also on the podcast, Erik Kain and Paul Tassi discuss the unsurprising announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

Are you the oldest? The baby? A middle child? The only child? How has your birth order affected who you are today? In this episode, Anthony's passengers delve deep into both painful and uplifting territory: how a pick-up basketball game changed two brothers forever, how a woman's vivid dreams of letting her sister die still haunt her, the loneliness of an only child, and how narcissism, mental illness, bad behavior, and age differences all manifest in real peoples' lives.

With so much of gaming living as zeroes and ones on servers, the idea of losing history in a blink of an idea is a devastating reality. The topic of preservation is an ongoing discussion in the industry, and one of the best defenses may be writing those experiences down on paper.

Satchell Drakes and Matt Perez discuss the issues of preservation in the gaming industry and the few yet great works of nonfiction helping to track its history. They also talk to Gabe Durham, the founder and editor of Boss Fight Books. Each entry in the series focuses on a single game from the perspective of a new author, often mixing history, criticism and personal anecdotes.

Also on the podcast, (@40:09) Erik Kain and Paul Tassi talk about the mysterious lack of Marvel video games in the wake of Black Panther’s success.

If you had to choose one song that's had the biggest impact on your life, which one would it be? In this episode, Anthony takes this question to the Backseat Riders...yielding some compelling back-stories, including: the song that helped a passenger recover from being victimized by "liars and thieves," a man who walked in on his cheating girlfriend, a woman who escapes an emotionally abusive relationship, and how one piece of jazz music has come to define both the ups and downs of one passenger's life. This is a rebroadcast of a story first released in June 2017.

On January 13th, an emergency alert reporting an inbound ballistic missile sent Hawaii into a state of panic. It turned out to be a false alarm, but for a period of up to 38 minutes, thousands of residents and tourists thought they might die. In this episode, a couple there on their honeymoon tell the story of what those 38 minutes were like...from their initial nonchalance to eventually placing "goodbye" phone calls to their loved ones. Anthony's other passengers share the stories of their own life-or-death moments, which range from home invasions and armed robberies, to car accidents, muggings, and a near-miss at an amusement park.
