day 9. this thing is still going? officially rename to 'full immersion meanjin'. vivid dreams. a confession re: letterboxd. a review of the performances of the veronicas and powderfinger on these, their only albums ever, and the only albums to ever exist. a discussion of the second form of the project. we briefly get into the editing of the 4zzz video. emotions were felt about jellyfish? not keen on the cyclone video. i love the television show Daria. is this the first time i mention Daria?

oh my god, this was the day i watched 'Mr Nice Guy (1997)'. a movie where Jackie Chan plays a TV chef for no real reason, but, importantly, is still Jackie Chan. it is a very melbourne / naarm movie, for this very brisbane / meanjin project. still doing all that other stuff (albums, video material, articles, losing my mind).

a week in. really keen on day 10. i learn about the true name behind the Fitzgerald Inquiry. suspicions are cast against the authors of the noisy miner bird article. discussions are again had about whether the project can be renegotiated. i make sense of the nature of cyclones.

i am BACK ON BOARD WITH THE PROJECT IN THIS ONE. i start bargaining with the project. is that a stage of something? who can say. first mention of a desire to be 'released' from the project. does that mean i am in the 'clutches' of the project? progress is made on day 5. maybe i am not back on board.

hello, my name is art. welcome to formerly pig city (or making the perfect album in 27 days while pre-apocalyptic), an art project about queeensland / meanjin, where i am listening to, watching and reading the same things every day, for 27 days, in an effort to go 'full immersion meanjin' and make some music and a zine about queensland and brisbane.

by way of background, the albums i am listening to are 'Internationalist' by Powderfinger and 'The Veronicas' by the Veronicas; being the only two albums mentioned in the timeline of brisbane wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_Brisbane). the things I am reading are an article about noisy miner birds, and an article about the effects of climate change on magpie geese, and I am also working my way (very slowly) through the fitzgerald inquiry. the things i am watching are a series of videos taken from the internet, variously and vaguely about aspects of queensland (https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLUpeniUnTNw-Bsn-6PR0jmDcDmTJz-XWv&si=BMKjaoLortqbG7yE). there was also a playlist that was allowed to be consumed during the early stages of the project, available at https://www.mixcloud.com/the_other_goku/formerly-pig-city-or-making-the-perfect-album-in-27-days-while-pre-apocalytic/.

i am recording audio logs as part of the process. it is supposed to be something approaching comedic or entertaining, but as with all things, the hope is just that it is in some way meaningful.
