  • Episode 039 Lucas Peterson

Lucas Peterson is the host of the Just Sway Podcast and a multiple repeat guest. More than that he has sincerely become a very important part of Fort Worth Roots and a great friend. In this episode we really put the listeners to the test. First we start the episode with no objective what so ever and then cut the thing short because we have to get to a comedy show with Jeff Dye as the headliner at Hyenas Comedy Night Club in Down Town Fort Worth Texas. We pick the episode up again the next morning and talk a little about the show with Jeff. Morgan Moore joins us with her lovely self to add just what was missing this entire time from the show...adult supervision. Check out  Lucas's show "Just Sway"  which is dedicated to the music and the men of Blue October and how they impact our lives and bring us together. Lucas puts a ton of time into each and every episode to make sure the end product comes out smooth and professional. You'll here me joke constantly about how his podcast delivers a much more professional podcast than Fort Worth Roots. But its true. He really does a good job and if you enjoy podcasts as much as we do than you need to check it out immediately.

We really didn't talk a bunch about Jeff Dye or the show at Hyenas. But this guy was killing it on stage that night. You should check the dude out and then leave comments all over his content telling him to come on Fort Worth Roots next time he's in town. We cant wait to see him again live. Great show Jeff!

    Here's a link i found for Mr.Dye :

Ms.Moore would actually hate to hear from you at this point. She's terribly shy and sleeps close to a night light, so...... that's it on Morgan. She's awesome and we hope she finds it in her heart to just quit being to busy to cohost the show and just be awesome and help us do things on Fort Worth Roots.

  • Episode 037 Matt Noveskey

Matt Novesky is the Owner of Orb Recording Studios in Austin Texas where artists from all over the world come to experience “ A place where inspiration flows, and coming back feels like coming home.” It’s a badass little slice of artistic heaven and walking into the lounge you can kinda feel the energy pouring out of the walls. Matt is also the lead man for the two man band Icarus Bell and plays with the band Blue October as the bassist. The list goes on and on and on… Matt is one busy dude! But he made time for Fort Worth Roots and myself and we cant thank our new homie Matt enough for spending time to do a quick recording . Matt thank you so much my friend and you and your artists are always welcome on Fort Worth Roots.

Matt Noveskey heard what I was using for the outro when we were wrapping things up. He asked if I would like to try sampling some of his art to use as the intro or outro. I didn’t hesitate to say “Hell yes!”. So what you heard me using in todays intro and then the music at the very end is from the song “Bones” by Icarus Bell. Matt Noveskey (lead vocals, bass, guitars) and drummer Alan Adams (drums and percussion). Their debut album is set to feature a number of surprise appearances by an all star cast of musicians such as Bumblefoot, Lukas Rossi and members of Noveskey’s full time band Blue October.

I don’t think I’m allowed to have a favorite band anymore. I know too many talented people at this point to pin it down to just one. With that being said, I have really been burning up all the music from Blue October recently. Check out Blue October’s music on you’re favorite streaming service to see what I’m talkin about. Here is a link to the song that keeps getting stuck in my head. Enjoy!

  • Episode 036 Jackie Rose

Jackie Rose is a musician out of Austin Texas that has developed her own unique style of music that isn’t easily placed in a typical box. We make a new friend and learn a little about what goes into creating badass music! This was a great opportunity for Fort Worth Roots and we cant wait to see Jackie and her friends at Orb Recording Studios real soon.

We talk about the rides at universal studios in Florida and what that was like during covid. What goes into making an album. Synesthesia, the production of a sense impression relating to one sense or part of the body by stimulation of another sense or part of the body (as defined by Microsoft Dictionary), which is a condition that Jackie has delt with her entire life. This condition allows Jackie to see sound visually.

It starts in the place where the west begins. Fort Worth Texas. This interview style variety podcast is centered around meeting interesting people and making new connections. So far we have had authors, doctors, comedians, musicians, businesses owners, and many more. Our journey has already taken us from Fort Worth to Austin. Many other places have been suggested for our next stop but you'll have to keep checking in to see where we land next. Terlingua? Colorado Springs? Maybe Elon gets that colony on Mars up and running? Hey! Thanks for checking out Fort Worth Roots. I hope you enjoy the show. As always I'm constantly looking for feed back. About the show!
This Interview style podcast or variety interview podcast originates out of Fort Worth Texas. We've recorded episodes in the Fort Worth Stockyards, many homes and offices, we've traveled all over the DFW area, and now currently we have set up shop in Austin Texas at the foot of the Hill Country. Its always been the purpose of the show to be a true mobile podcast with a mobile podcast studio. While we grow the show and continue to make friends we are in the process of what one of our guests calls "bridge building". Simply put, bridge building is the process of working on your dreams while maintaining your day job! Andrew Turner, the host of Fort Worth Roots, is no stranger to the perils of being in business for himself. His first business was a landscape design business that landed him a role on HGTV with Andy and Ashley Williams on the show " Flip or Flop Fort Worth. Andrew and his little company appeared on 6 episodes of the show. This was the first time he had been part of a production this size. Eventually the show was finished filming and two years later Andrew left the world of landscape design. With experience in a dozen or more industries Andrew finds it easy to connect with almost all of his guests. The show continues to evolve and change with each episode. • Episode 031 Lucas Peterson
Lucas Peterson is a 3 time return guest and important friend of Fort Worth Roots, Lucas is the host of the podcast "Just Sway" a podcast dedicated to the band Blue October and the people who have been impacted by the bands music. Lucas is also the host of the Horrorful Podcast where they give a detailed brake down of cult classic horror movies and provide the listener with details and info about how the movies were produced and some of the behind the scene stuff.
Episode 31 will always been known as the one we dont want to talk about. The host of the show lost the audio file and in a scramble finds a way to "kinda" make the audio from the gopro camera substitute. Thank you for forgiving me as i know you have.
