We analyze just how bad the Mueller report is for the President...as well as for Democratic leaders who have to be finding it harder and harder to find reasons not to impeach. Now they have to find reasons not to impeach Attorney General Barr as well as Trump. The report makes a damning case against the so-called leader of the US, despite leaving open many questions. One of those open questions: why did Mueller not fully pursue his obstruction investigation, and why did he allow Trump and his family to profit by their lies and lack of cooperation? Also, infighting at the NRA puts us in mind of Ramsey Bolton being eaten by his own dogs.

Extremists are crawling out from under rocks all over the world, but most disturbingly in our own backyard and among our allies. Trump continues to show that it is bigotry, anger, and resentment that motivate his base. Trump's hand-picked Attorney General finally finds spies! He tells congress that he believes, with no evidence, that the US intelligence agencies he now leads spied on Trump. (Nothing to see here with Russia, of course.) Julian Assange gets arrested and we consider whether the man who worked to get Donald Trump elected President merits protection as a journalist. Trump's voter fraud is finally found...in Indonesia. Religious extremists take over, or cement their control, in Israel and Brunei. Conservatives again demonstrate they don't believe their own BS. The House holds hearings on the singular threat posed by white nationalists and white supremacists and the Republicans show which side they are on; then they add an exclamation point by continuing their baseless attacks on congresswoman Omar in a continuing attempt to inflame anti-Islamic bigots.

The latest shake-ups in the Trump administration, including the firing of Homeland Security Secy Cruella de Vil...err, Kirstjen Nielsen, dial-up the war on civic institutions and Trump's move to despotism. They further indicate that any respect for law, international norms, or basic human decency will not be tolerated in the US government. As Benjamin Netanyahu fights to continue as Israeli PM, he mirrors Trump in resorting to appeals to religious fanaticism, racism and nationalism, and two former beacons for freedom and democracy increasingly emulate that which they purport to despise. Trump's efforts to hijack the Mueller report may be in some jeopardy. (Hey, we're trying to find something positive to report!) Finally, further security lapses at the White House and Mar a Lago just provide more evidence that nothing about Trump is honest, especially his professed love of country.

Team Trump continues to take victory laps while spewing venom over a report that exists only in their own minds. Somehow, much of the media accepts these claims of victory by a team of the most hapless losers, and largely accepts what can only be described now as the Barr Report. Nevertheless, no bogus claims can invalidate what we have seen and learned over the last two years, and this President remains a likely-criminal affront to America and Americans. Emboldened by his faux victory, trump gets back to policy pronouncements and thus reminds us where the biggest threat lies. The next step in the effort to take health care away from 20 million Americans, and take away the regulations necessary for a better future for all but the criminals running the country and their donors. We talk about some of the recent examples of deregulation gone amok...and about Trump's reelection prospects.

The Mueller report finally comes...well, we can't say out, but it WAS delivered to Trump lackey AG William Barr. And the verdict? Exoneration! Not Mueller's verdict, but Trump's and Barr's. We still don't know what Mueller actually found. So now the next endless battle begins: the one where we try to find out what the investigators actually said about whether the President and his cronies are criminals, traitors, or just un-American incompetents. And where we see whether America will truly descend into despotism. Also, Trump and the Republicans continue to try to peel Jews away from the 79% who voted for Democrats in 2018, and of course they seek to do it by going with what they know: appealing to extremism. Finally, New Zealand's Prime Minister provides a lesson in what decent and responsible government looks like (and how much we are lacking it here) and shows us that responsible gun laws are possible...at least in civilized nations.

Another show devoted to another week's worth of events demonstrating the lack of accountability of rich people. First, the worst mass murder in New Zealand's history, perpetrated by at least one of the white supremacists Donald Trump has emboldened for more than three years and to whom he referred as often "good people". The Connecticut Supreme Court rules that gun manufacturers can be sued by the survivors of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting; will the decision hold, or will Republicans be able to continue to protect the gun industry from responsibility for the carnage it promotes to increase profits? The college admissions cheating scandal should be a surprise to no one, but should remind us all how inferior the very rich tend to be, and can afford to be since they don't play by the same rules as the rest of us. Speaking of lack of accountability, we finish by talking about Speaker Nancy Pelosi's statement that Democrats would not seek to impeach the most criminal President this country has ever had.

Long-time Republican insider, Trump campaign manager, and all-around evil crook Paul Manafort given a slap-on-the-wrist for extensive illegal behavior on theory of having led a blameless life. How white, wealthy, and connected = blameless. Manafort, Trump, Kushner, Stone, and others again illustrate this week how white and wealthy also = unaccountable. Why things need to be made more fair...and some people need to be made a lot less rich.

The issue of anti-Semitism is again commanding our national attention. How the party that is the home of the anti-Semites really shouldn't be teaching us about anti-Semitism.  And how its efforts to exaggerate an incident of alleged bigotry by Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (coincidence?) undermines the real battle against anti-Semitism and makes a mockery of efforts to combat it. How those seeking to fight anti-Semitism should be a little more careful in who they choose to go to battle with. Finally, how we should use this moment to seek to address all forms of bigotry, even those practiced by Republicans.

Mr. Trump goes to Hanoi; only to realize he must've forgotten something (like to prepare for his meeting with North Korean leader Kim) and turning around and going home. And America breathes a sigh of relief that the negotiator-in-chief did not strike a deal with this nuclear power. Congress votes against Trump's ludicrous declaration of national emergency and the GOP Senate quakes in its boots that it may have to do something. A white nationalist long-time member of the Coast Guard somehow avoids setting off the Coast Guard's radar, but has his planned mass murder of Democrats foiled by anti-terrorism agents. Michael "Sammy the Bull" Cohen testifies to congress that the President of the United States is a racist, a con man, a cheat, a liar and a crook.  And tells us nothing we didn't already know about the President of the United States. But still makes for riveting theater, and reminds sane people who we have running the country.

How the emergency declaration makes a mockery of US law and the constitution, and how Trump presents a continuing threat to the same thought his incompetence, lack of integrity, and desire to become an autocrat. Why this country should be afraid of the authoritarian presidency. Speaking of which, the latest on Russia. Finally, Amazon walks away from NYC for lack of sufficient respect, and why America needs to walk away from relocation deals.
