THE HOME FOR PROGRESSIVE POLITICS
This Week’s Discussion:
In this week’s episode we address the latest evidence of criminality in the Trump family. What seemed like a damning revelation gleaned from Ivanka's use of private emails for government business has turned into serious small beer once Michael Cohen began cooperating with the independent counsel. Cohen testified under oath in court that President Trump is a criminal and that he is effectively being blackmailed by the President of Russia. Following Cohen's testimony of impeachment-worthy behavior by President Trump, we wonder if there is enough integrity in the GOP or among its voters to think that a Republican president who is proven to be a criminal and effectively an agent of a hostile foreign power might be able to be impeached. We ponder whether there is any accountability for wealthy white criminals anymore. We go to Mississippi, where racist statements do not undermine your senate aspirations, and where Cindy Hyde-Smith thereby was elected. We wonder why Mississippians are so resentful of the federal government even as they continued to be over-represented in it and continue to be its greatest welfare recipients. We discuss how Republicans have finally found the elusive electoral fraud they have long been seeking, and all they had to do to find it was look in a mirror. We discuss how instant runoff elections, or ranked choice voting works, and why it should be implemented nationwide. Finally, we discuss how Donald Trump managed to finally win an argument...against his Chief Justice.

This Week’s Discussion:
In this week’s episode we address the latest evidence that the 25th Amendment applies to an increasingly disabled President Trump. We note how Trump is now just about the only supporter of the murdering Saudi Crown Prince, and how he has utterly discarded any notion of American values in order to do so. Then we have a wide-ranging discussion with our special co-host Steven Leventhal, co-Associate Director of the Honors Business and Liberal Arts program at Queens College, City University of NY. We continue to discuss the midterm elections, President Trump, the Republican and Democratic parties and where they go from here, the bigotry of Republican voters, and the state of US democracy.

This Week’s Discussion:
In this week’s episode we address the latest on the midterm elections and Democrats' remarkable "post-election" success. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, President Trump, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, and other criminals feeling the heat! The California Camp fires become the deadliest in the state's history. British PM Teresa May's efforts to accomplish Brexit mirror the problems Republicans have in trying to sell a product with nothing to recommend it. Amazon makes official the locations of its second headquarters, and demonstrates again the evils of relocation deals. We celebrate Veterans Day on the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, and note how the GOP celebration includes undermining just about everything we won during World War I, as well as the veterans we pretend to celebrate.
