Everyone is about to ask a 17-year-old the wrong question. What are you going to do with your life?

This is a short letter to a rising senior, from a former teacher. It says the thing nobody says: you don't need the answer this year. What you do need is the skill nobody teaches, which is how to be direct. First with yourself, about what you actually want instead of the safe answer your family is expecting.
