What does it mean to be truly free?
For years, I believed freedom meant success, money, influence, and the ability to do whatever I wanted. But over time, I’ve realized that many of us aren’t free at all—we’re serving masters we never chose. Approval, ambition, fear, status, comfort, politics, religion, achievement, and even our own ego can quietly take control of our lives.
In this episode, I reflect on insights from an Enneagram retreat, the teachings of Jesus, and the deeper question beneath personal growth and self-discovery: Who—or what—do you serve?
Jesus taught that no one can serve two masters. The gospel is not merely an invitation to believe different things; it is an invitation to become a different person. A person liberated from fear, shame, pride, corruption, and the endless need to prove themselves.
I also reflect on the state of the Philippines, the meaning of freedom, and why integrity matters even when compromise seems easier. In a world obsessed with building our own kingdoms, Christ offers something radically different: a life rooted in truth, hope, surrender, and lasting freedom.
This conversation is about more than religion. It’s about the search for meaning, the cost of discipleship, and why I believe Jesus is worth living for.
