  • Entrepreneur Mentor Loren Kutsko!

On today’s show I am thrilled to have Loren Kutsko. Loren was educated at the Indiana University School of Informatics and paid his own way through school by providing IT support to faculty and staff of the University. After graduation, he helped to set and manage global strategy at Food for the Hungry, a humanitarian relief and development agency serving the world's most poor and vulnerable in over 26 countries. He quickly rose to the head of global Information Technology where he led a team of talented technologists to tackle some of the agency's most complex global challenges. Loren then spent many years as Chief Operating Officer at Brushfire Interactive, a tech startup in Phoenix. Loren was an early Brushfire team member as the boutique consulting team grew from 2-12 employees and quadrupled in sales. It was while working at Brushfire that Loren discovered his passion for coaching and mentoring entrepreneurs.

  • Corporate Life to Franchise Success with Matt Miller

Matt Miller spent the first 9 years of his career as an Air Force pilot, before entering the private sector to work in both the medical device and advertising industries. While a top performer in the corporate world, his long term desire was to be his own boss. A good friend one day mentioned the gum ball machines he and his young daughters owned, and that conversation began a 10 year business quest that has brought Matt's company, School Spirit Vending, to the cutting edge of both the vending and school fundraising industries. Today, School Spirit Vending’s franchising program provides a proven and profitable business system for busy professionals and their families looking to develop secondary income streams, while raising millions of dollars for education at the same time.

  • Take Extra Care

Buying any business is risky. Nothing is a guaranteed success. There are some franchises that you need to take a little extra caution with. This doesn't mean that you should avoid these all together just that you need to take a little extra care to make you know exactly what you are getting into.

Getting in early on a franchise definitely has its benefits but you have to be careful. Early on the systems and supports have not been fully tested.

Buying a re-sell can be a cost effective way of getting into a franchise but you need to make sure you really research and find out why they are selling early.

Both these situation can be amazing or complete disasters. Luckily with a little extra due diligence on your part can help you make a smart decision.

    Happy Franchising!

Today is all about things you just need to stop doing! Businesses are always evolving and a sometimes the systems we had just don't work anymore. You need to take a step back and simplify things because over complicated business practices will cost you time and money.

My mantra is dream, build, and grow, but today I am telling you to stop dreaming! Seems a little harsh, I know,  but in order to build and grow you can't get stuck just dreaming. You need to take that dream and start taking steps to make it come true.
