Fraudish

Welcome back after a wonderful holiday weekend!  Today we have a Great Dude in Fraud.  Jeff Grant is a true story of an unexpected life.  From being a lawyer to going to prison for SBA fraud related to 9/11 and now getting back his law license.  I think you will find this episode fascinating on many levels.  Jeff’s podcast, White Collar Week, and his support group has become such a community for people that never thought this could happen to them. Please take a listen and let me know your thoughts.  As Jeff says,” It’s the isolation that destroys us. The solution is in community.” Spot on.  Have a great week.  https://www.linkedin.com/in/revjeffgrant/https://twitter.com/revjeffgranthttps://prisonist.org/https://prisonist.org/podcasts/

Rachele Davis is the go-to private investigator for all things adoption related. Not only does she have a law enforcement background but she has a personal connection to adoption stories. Her work is truly life-changing for everyone involved. I can’t imagine making the calls she does. But I know she does it with care, concern, compassion, and confidentiality. Be sure to check her blog out, https://newhopeinvestigations.com/blog. The stories are really interesting and amazing. https://www.linkedin.com/in/rachele-davis-lpi-235577120/

Being a victim of a fraud shaped her and her career.  Her book, The Psychology of Fraud, Persuasion and Scam Techniques, is a must-read. If you know anyone who you think may fall victim to a fraud it is mandatory. Martina does checklists and provides examples from real scams. It is a fascinating read. I love how she has been able to use her “softer” human skills to integrate with cyber and scams. And at the core of fraud are humans. As Joe Wells said, “Fraud is not an accounting problem. It is a social problem.” Robots don’t do fraud. Humans commit fraud. Take a listen and let me know your thoughts. Have a wonderful week.
