In this episode we are going to be talking about some of the greatest defeats in history. I know that sounds kind of counter-intuitive, but these are both examples of times when a very small group of people held off a gigantic invading force against all the odds. I start with the battle of Thermopylae, which you probably have heard of, and then talk about the battle of Saragarhi, which you probably haven't heard of.
Yes, this is episode 27. And the last episode is 25. Deal with it.

Since tomorrow is july 4th, we talk about some interesting facts about independence day and the national anthem. For example, did you know that the signing of the declaration of independence didn't actually happen on the 4th of july? Twelve of the thirteen colonies actually approved it on july second, not the 4th.

This episode is about Julie d’Aubigny . She was a total badass. She actually attended a court ball in men's clothing , kisses a woman, (and the this is the turn of the 18th century, mind you), and then gets challenged to a duel by three separate nobleman. Then she beats them all. And that's just a short example of what she did.
