PODCAST | Angelo Acerbi interviews Allison McGourty, screenwriter of the film Becoming Led Zeppelin.
Allison McGourty, screenwriter of Becoming Led Zeppelin, presented out of competition in Venice brings us through the creative and research process that lead to the film. Finding the original footage of the 60’s Led Zeppelin was not easy, she tells, and arranging a narrative on all the material they gather wasn’t either.
Becoming Led Zeppelin : It is a film that no one thought could ever be made. The band’s meteoric rise to stardom was swift and virtually undocumented. With unparalleled access to the group and their personal archives, their full support and never-before-seen footage, Becoming Led Zeppelin will immerse you in the sights and sounds of their early career. For all the millions of people who will never see the band live, this is as close as you will get to being there. Before the stairway and the dragon, before the gold and the girls, there were simply four men and their love of music. Becoming Led Zeppelin reveals their individual journeys as they move through the music scene of the 1960’s, playing small clubs throughout Britain and performing on some of the biggest hits of the era, until their meeting in the summer of 1968 for a rehearsal that changes their lives forever. Their four journeys merge into one as they set out to conquer America on a rollercoaster ride that culminates in 1970 when they become the number one band in the world.

PODCAST | Angelo Acerbi interviews Nicole Holofcener, screenwiter of the film The Last Duel.
Nicole Holofcener wrote The Last Duel by Ridley Scott together with matta Damon and Ben Affleck. Taken from a book, the story of a woman who first in history , in the 13th century, wanted to speak out about being raped. A feminist film narrated from three points of view and an historical accuracy and richness that only Ridley Scott can provide.
The Last Duel: A gripping tale of betrayal and vengeance set against the brutality of 14th century France. The historical epic is a cinematic and thought-provoking drama that explores the ubiquitous power of men, the frailty of justice and the strength and courage of one woman willing to stand alone in the service of truth. Based on actual events, the film unravels long-held assumptions about France’s last sanctioned duel between Jean de Carrouges and Jacques Le Gris, two friends turned bitter rivals. When Carrouges’ wife, Marguerite, is viciously assaulted by Le Gris, a charge he denies, she refuses to stay silent, stepping forward to accuse her attacker, an act of bravery and defiance that puts her life in jeopardy. The ensuing trial by combat, a grueling duel to the death, places the fate of all three in God’s hands.
