There are some basic principles regarding assurance of salvation.--- false assurance is possible--- true assurance is possible--Why, then, should we give diligence to seeking assurance and how should we go about it- ----1. Benefits of assurance--We should give diligence to seeking salvation because when we have assurance we experience joy in our Christian walk. Why is the Christian who is assured of his salvation joyful---- because he has no fear--- because assurance lightens the burdens of living in a fallen world--- because he can have confidence in death----2. Obtaining of assurance--How can we obtain assurance- First, the foundation of our assurance, or sonship, must be Christ's work for us. Secondly, there is also a gradual transformation of sonship by the work of the Spirit in us. Thirdly, there is the gracious confirmation of sonship by the witness of the Spirit to us.

Overview: In the book of Revelation, there are 7 churches that God speaks to through John. In this sermon, we are taking a look at the church in Philadelphia. There are some simple things we notice.----1. Concerning the outward condition of the church at Philadelphia--Their condition was one of weakness and insignificance -3-8b-. They had few members and were not accepted by society. All they had was the promise of God. All they preached was Christ and the gospel.----2. Christ's opinion of the church at Philadelphia--- concerning the characteristics of our Lord -3-7---He is holy and true. He has the key of David. He opens and shuts doors and no one can stop Him. Therefore, we can trust Christ's opinion.--- the commendations that come from our Lord -3-8c---Christ's opinion was that though they only had a little strength, they kept God's word in doctrine, practice, and spirit and did not deny His name.----3. A certain opportunity for the church at Philadelphia -3-8a---This church had been faithful to God, so he was going to provide a door of opportunity for this church. Though they were a small church and looked weak in the eyes of the world, God was going to make them great.----4. The coming opposition to the church at Philadelphia -3-9---The synagogue of Satan, or those who professed to be saved but were not, were coming to oppose their church. The Roman soldiers also were coming to scourge the church at Philadelphia----5. The confident overcoming of the church in Philadelphia -3-12---God by His grace would give victory to the Philadelphian church and bring them home to Himself because they persevered for the glory of God.

    Bible: Leviticus 16
    Length: 56 min.

Overview: The day of atonement occupies a singular place as it reveals the Great High Priest over the house of God. In Leviticus 16, we see our Great High Priest----1. The person of our Great High Priest -16-4---We see the Great High Priest through the clothing that the priest wore. In this clothing, we learn of the simplicity and purity of our Great High Priest.----2. The propitiation of our Great High Priest -16-15---Propitiation means to appease. The ark was the place where propitiation was made. The wrath of God was appeased by the blood of the sinless Lamb -Romans 3-24-25-. The atonement of Christ satisfied God. We must preach the sacred truth of propitiation by the blood of Christ.----3. The pardon from our Great High Priest -16-21-22---After the blood was shed, Aaron had one more special task which was tied to the scapegoat. Aaron put his hand on the head of the goat. The goat bore all the iniquities of the people and then went away into the wilderness. It showed that the sins of God's people had indeed been dealt with and put away forever.----4. The presentation by the Great High Priest -16-23---The high priest changed his clothes after the atonement. Here we see a view of the exaltation of Christ after his atonement. He now reigns exalted in glory in His glorified humanity and his eternally glorified deity.----Let us hold fast to our Great High Priest -Hebrews 4-14-

    Event: Special Meeting
    Date: 7/30/2018
    Bible: Deuteronomy 18:15-22; Acts 3:22-23
    Length: 57 min.

Overview: Christ executes three offices- prophet, priest, and king. He does so in two states- humiliation and exaltation. How does the Lord act as a prophet- This question can be answered by looking at two points.----1. The explanation of the term--What does it mean to have Christ as our Prophet- It means that Christ reveals the Word of God to us. He tells us the will of God and also foretells in the Word of God. Christ executes the office of a prophet immediately. Christ also executes the office of a prophet mediately, or through the use of agents.----2. The execution of the task--Christ has been sent forth as the prophet to whom we must take heed. There is a need for illumination in sinner's hearts. Christ teaches not just the outward, but also the inward man. Christ reveals His Father's will plainly, powerfully, and perfectly. His revelation is final. He reveals by His Word and Spirit. He continues his ministry as a prophet in heaven.

    Title: God's Supply
    Subtitle: 2018 International Congress
    Speaker: Rev Thomas Murray
Broadcaster: Free Presbyterian Church of Malvern
    Event: Sunday - PM
    Date: 7/29/2018
    Bible: Philippians 4:19
    Length: 45 min.

Overview: Paul testified that God had provided all his needs. The promises of God are immense and immutable. Abraham doubted and Sarah laughed, but the promised son was born. Men because of their circumstances are forced to eat their words, but God never has to eat his words. God's promises are absolutely sure and certain. When we consider the number and nature of God's promise, our future is exceedingly bright. We need to claim God's promises. This evening, we want to draw your attention to this great promise spoken by the apostle Paul----1. the material supply--Through these Philippian believers, God had met the physical needs of Paul -4-18-. God provides for our bodies as for his soul. God not only commands his servants, but he cares for his servants. The God who sends you is able to supply you. Have you learned to trust in Him- He is able to supply your physical needs. Paul's weakness had also been supplied -4-13-. He gives strength and skill to do the things he calls them to do. If you wait upon God, he will infuse his strength. He will give you the power. He will give you the skills. Paul's wounds had been supplied -4-14-. God works the pressures of life into our eternal good and His eternal glory.----2. the measured supply--Paul abounded -4-18-. There is a richness here in God's supply. He supplies -all-- God can give liberally. He fills our cup till it runs over. God's giving is perpetual and plentiful. There is a restriction. He supplies need, not wants. There was a regularity in his giving -4-16-. He keeps giving.----3. the men supplied--The men who supplied Paul and were supplied by God were a providing people, a prayerful people and a pure people.
