This week, I'm going to be continuing to share my story. I wanted to talk about letting go of the past and looking forward to the future. Letting go of the past to move on after narcissistic abuse is often easier, said than done.
I'm pretty sure that those of you listening will know how it feels to be fearful of another person or not knowing how you can get out of a particular situation, feelings of being stuck and you can't see a way out of it. But we can be free to be ourselves, free to be me.
Here are the highlights:
(01:46) What are we afraid of?
(04:31) Leaving felt too hard to do
(13:15) We store trauma in our bodies
(15:52) We can find freedom
(16:22) We need to have compassion for ourselves
(18:36) The poem ‘She Let Go’ by Rev. Safire Rose

This week, I want to share with you five ways to ensure loneliness after narcissistic abuse doesn't turn into depression. This is something that can occur when you have been isolated from your family and friends as part of the narcissistic abuse. I know that everyone feels lonely from time to time and that is a normal part of the human experience but for some of us who have been through narcissistic abuse, we can be more vulnerable to slipping from loneliness into depression.
Here are the highlights:
(01:58) Boost your social support
(02:39) Develop a mindfulness practice
(03:59) Have self-compassion
(05:05) Use emotional reappraisal to boost your self-esteem
(08:06) The recap

About Michael:
I have been a professional diver for over 25 years. As an instructor, I have helped hundreds overcome their fears of physical harm, embarrassment and failure.
Witnessing my students going through transformations from fear to joy, doubt to success, tension to relief, feeling trapped to the freedom that comes from a new perspective has driven me through the quagmire of fear, doubt and anxiety and to embrace life and adventure.
I moved to the UK from the Caribbean in 2010 and retrained from recreational dive instructor to industrial commercial diver - ship salvage, underwater maintenance and in-shore/off-shore operations. I went through a period of feeling disconnected and adrift from the deeply emotional human connection that I experienced whilst engaging in dive instruction. Through my discovery of the concepts of life coaching I have reconnected and developed relationships that support individuals in discovering what holds them back from living the life that they desire but they may not think they can achieve.
I have two sons and live on the outskirts of London, in Teddington, with my wife and youngest boy.

{2:08} Revenge can create challenges for you
